March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
@itsfi Oh my gosh, how could I forget G for Gastropod?!! Haha! ๐๐
I have tried 5 from this line and have 8 more left in my stash to use. So far I would say they're in the, good-not-great, filler-type masks category. ๐
Good intel on the sheet mask @Shosh85! There was a time when I would have been all onboard for good-but-not-great sheet masks, but now that I know of so many more sheet masks and resources for them, Iโm more focused on the ones my skin likes best. Having just one face also helps with not having too many filler masks. ๐คฃ
From last week - unicorn!
I'm not too original here and I am so glad that @faeriegirl mentioned this mask because I didn't realize it was expiring. Whoops.
I've probably reviewed this one before, but it's Biobelle's Unicorn Glow Mask. The mask is made of tencel, slightly hydrating, and has a light chocolate smell. There's a slight tingling sensation, but nothing concerning for me.
This was a good reminder that I need to go through my 2021 masks, though, and see if I have anything else about to expire.
@PrettyPaint Such a great picture!
The packaging is just too pretty and magical @PrettyPaint
@lmaster I really like their packaging--and all the pics of treats!
It's always nice to see those reminders about ones that might be close to expiration, @PrettyPaint!
@quspork For sure! I really need to go through my 2021 masks and organize by month, I think.
@PrettyPaint, ooh, light chocolate scent sounds wonderful! The original masks from Biobelle are all so great. So sad to see them go. BTW, that plushie is so cute. Is it one of the Squishmallows?
@itsfi haha, fantastic job at the squishmallow identification. I actually should have photographed the unicorn squishmallow, but my son decided that one is his ๐
You mean Stella Unicorn @PrettyPaint?!! ๐ฆ๐ At one point, I knew all the names of the Squishmallows. I had too - I was quizzed on them by a toddler. Hahaha! ๐คฃ
@itsfi You amaze me with all of your special talents! ๐
Is it possible that some are unnamed? The tag doesn't have a name on it. I looked it up, and it's just called pink sequin unicorn. I am going to post a pic of it later tonight...haha.
@PrettyPaint, I think itโs absolutely possible some are unnamed. I only wish the little had some unnamed Squishmallows; having to keep track of the names had my head spinning at times. ๐
@itsfi That's hilarious. I feel that way about the beanie boos. In my experience, all of them have names. Ugh--the Scholastic book fairs even sell these beanie boo "books" that show pictures, names, and DOB for all beanie boos that may be purchased.
Here is the unnamed unicorn:
Oh my goodness @PrettyPaint! Your unicorn Squishmallow is so cute! ๐ There are beanie boo books?! Okay, I am going to keep that information from becoming public knowledge for as long as I can. ๐คฃ Sometimes I donโt know what is better - that the plushies have names so I can look up what they are, or they donโt have pre-assigned names and she makes them up. Because sometimes, a plushie has a different name depending on the day. ๐
@PrettyPaint I really liked this one - the tencel and chocolate scent is a nice combo ๐
So sad these are discontinued though - glad you were able to use this one before it went bad! ๐
@Shosh85 I know! I really wish they would bring back the classics. ๐
F is for fruit, and lychee was my fruit of choice for my various masking over the weekend
Sheet Masks:
Mask: | Sephora Collection Clean Face Mask Lychee | Vitamasques Vegan Collagen Lychee
|
Material: | Eucalyptus-derived fiber | Triple layer vegan cellulose (eucalyptus fiber)
|
Fit: | Pretty good. Fit can be made to work with adjustments to length an corners of the eyes, nose and mouth. The โholeโ for the mouth is actually a slit (as opposed to a cut out). I donโt have an issue with this but I know that some prefer the traditional oval cutout shape.
| Good. Width was perfect fit. Adjustments needed to length at chin and inner corner of eye hole and corner of mouth hole.
|
Adherence: | Good | Good
|
Type of Essence / Serum: | Clear, semi-viscous essence | Typical sheet mask essence, perhaps slightly thinner, but not runny.
|
Scent: | Fresh and slightly floral scent; I donโt pick up lychee per se. | Yum! It smells more like peach and lychee, with the scent leaning more towards peach. I wouldnโt mind the scent in a hand lotion.
|
Claim(s): | Moisturizing and glow | Plump and moisturize
|
Results: | Skin is hydrated, plump and looks bright and dewy. | There was a lot of essence remaining on my face even after 30 minutes of wear. Leaves a slight tack as the essence is pressed and absorbed into skin. Skin felt hydrated and bouncy, and had a fresh-faced and dewy brightness to it.
|
What I Liked: | Results are really good. This is one of my top 2 from the Sephora Collection Clean sheet mask line. | So many likes with this one. Fit, feel and results were great. IT smells wonderful, too! Happy to hear that the sheet is biodegradable. Price point is good as well - $2.99.
|
Area(s) for Improvement: | Would love if this had a lychee scent. The price ($5.50) for this mask seems a smidge high. Iโd like to see Sephoraโs previous sheet mask offer apply for the new clean line (buy 3, get 1 free) and for that offer to apply to all of clean sheet masks and not just select flavors.
| Availability. It seems like Target (online and certain stores) is the only source for these masks. Not a bad thing as I am quite fond of Target.
|
Will I Repurchase?:
| Iโll repurchase if I need to hit a minimum spend for a promo gwp, or perhaps if thereโs a good offer or sale. Now that Iโve discovered the Vitamasques version of the lychee mask though, the Vitamasques one will likely be the one Iโll reach for more often.
| Absolutely. If I wasnโt so close to reaching my target sheet mask number, Iโd break my no-buy and pick up a few. But Iโm going to be good and hold off.
|
Sleeping Mask:
The Sephora Collection Clean Face Sleeping Mask Lychee has a lightweight, slightly pink hued, jelly consistency. The texture is reminiscent of the Laneige waer sleeping mask. This has an extremely subtle scent. It smells more floral to me, albeit a very, very light floral. I donโt pick up any fruit, let alone lychee, scent. On the one hand, I think the light scent makes it suitable for more people, which is great. On the other hand though, I did pick up this lychee mask hoping for a lychee scent. I know, itโs like a no-win situation If it were heavily fragranced, Iโd want the scent to be subtle. The sleeping mask absorbed nicely into my skin overnight. My skin looked slightly hydrated and Iโd say my complexion has a less dull cast to it, which is a plus. This sleeping mask isnโt bad; but Iโm not sure it stands out from a results perspective. The price point on this one, $5, is good. This one seems like it will be better for me in the warmer months, when my skin is more dehydrated-combo (oily T-zone; normal-to-dry everywhere else). @lmaster, my recollection is that you picked up a couple of these sleeping masks as well; would love to hear your take on them after you've had an opportunity to give them a good try.
Lip Care:

@itsfi I really love your comparison charts. That's so cool that you posted about the Vitamasques because I had just noticed they were new at Target (and yes, they were added to my curbside pickup).
I also have had the Lychee sleeping mask for a couple of weeks now. I think I only tried it once, but maybe I'll try again tonight. I was undecided after first wear because I didn't sleep with my hair in a ponytail and my hair got stuck all over my face. I'm not totally sure what real lychee smells like, so I didn't know how to evaluate the scent. Maybe I need to apply a thinner layer this time.
