Makeup setter

What is the best makeup setter ?

Re: Makeup setter

So I used to be a huge fan of Urban Decay's All Nighter spray until I noticed the crazy high alcohol content. It doesn't show it on Sephora, but if you look on the Urban Decay website it's the second ingredient! This is so incredibly bad for your skin in the long run even if you're not noticing immediate effects so just keep that in mind. Because of this, I prefer MAC's Fix Plus since it is alcohol free. I actually wrote a blog post about the dangers of denatured alcohol, as well as some other popular products that contain crazy high amounts of it. I hope this doesn't come off too forward but I think it's a pretty useful read. https://www.beautybythebooks.com/single-post/2016/08/28/Avoid-This-Ingredient-at-all-Costs

RE: Makeup setter

To actually SET my makeup I love the urban decay all nighter, to just get a dewy finish and get rid of the powdery look pretty much any spray will work but I love the Mac fix+

It depends on how you intend on using the product. if you are looking for a daily setting spray or one for a specific skin concerns I'd opt for one that you may find in the skincare section or Makeup For Ever, Tarte or Too Faced. I personally love the FAB Vital Greens because it depuffs, hydrates and gives off the "I just got a facial" glow. I'd recommend to steer clear of the UD or any setting spray high in alcohol ( most artistry brand use it because that's what makes the makeup fixate or waterproof and they are intended for events or shoots. Basically short term use.) using it every day has the potential to dry/dehydrate your skin. you might not notice it right away but it is a huge possibility.

Re: Makeup setter

I think Urban Decay makes the best one, but lately I've been rather fond of the CoverFX illuminating setting spray.

RE: Makeup setter

I literally have gone into Sephora like 6 times and just sprayed on every spray for the face they have lol. I love the quick fix by urban decay, too faced 3 in 1 hangover, and the makeup forever mist

RE: Makeup setter

I really like All Nighter by Urban Decay. One that I would personally stay away from is Too Faced Peach Mist setting spray. It smells divine but the mister is poor (big drops regularly come shooting out) and you have to shake it a lot to avoid getting white spots. Urban Decay has excellent misters on all their spray products and I’ve never had white spots from any of their setting sprays.

Re: Makeup setter

I like the NYX matte setting spray

RE: Makeup setter

I really like the Morphe continuous setting mist. It’s only $15, it works well, and doesn’t contain any alcohol. Cover FX and Makeup forever also have great setting sprays that are alcohol free.

RE: Makeup setter

Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day is my Holy Grail! And it comes in all different kinds of scents. Peach is my favorite.

RE: Makeup setter

Hold on- a peach spray!! I’ve got to try it!! Do you know how it compares to the Too Faced Peach scent?

RE: Makeup setter

@bakeamuffin It’s way better! It doesn’t leave those white dots all over if you don’t shake it enough. And...with the code JOYBOGO you get 2 setting sprays for the price of one! They’re $22. You have to try it. It’s really the best and I have way too many setting sprays. Lol.

My daughter loves KVD setting spray. She actually made the switch from urban decay to KVD because of size and price. KVD has more product and costs less.
