@charmie729C There are plenty of great suggestions here already. One drugstore option I would recommend is Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream. I keep one at my desk at work.

Look for a product with hyaluronic acid in it as it’s best for your skin. I suffer from dry hands as well and have used a lotion with this in it and it has helped a lot the products I use are not Sephora tho.

H! Do you mind if I ask you what the name of the hand cream you use is?

@dix0nlaura   Lots of us recommend non-Sephora products, and are always willing to hear about great products no matter the brand! We'd love it if you shared some of your favourite hand creams.

@charmie729C Neutrogena Norwegian formula hand cream!

One of my go-to products in the winter is Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultimate Strength Hand Salve . It has a creamy formula that is thick enough to moisturize dry hands but lightweight enough to absorb quickly.

Re: Looking for the best hand cream for extremely dry skin

@charmie729C  I use a few things on my dry hands. Twice a day (after my first and last hand washings of the day), I apply facial oil to my damp (not dripping wet) hands: put 3-4 drops in one palm, rub palms together, and then rub my hands to cover with oil, making sure to also coat my nails and the skin folds around them. I love The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL  for this because it’s hydrating. I sometimes mix it with jojoba oil; I use Trader Joe’s, but there are plenty of other options.

Immediately after that, I use a moisturizer. I still love Skinfix Eczema+ Hand Repair Cream 3 oz/ 89 mL  , but lately I’ve just used CeraVe Moisturizing Cream; it partners well with the oils I mentioned. If I’ll be in cold temps, I apply a petroleum balm to my hands, especially around my nails; my favorite is Aquaphor Ointment. Some nights, after my last hand washing of the day, I use a layer of The INKEY List SuperSolutions 10% Urea Moisturizer Textured Skin Solution 1.7 oz / 50 mL  under hand cream to gently exfoliate my hands. (Urea’s also a great hydrating ingredient.)

On the go, I carry either the Skinfix cream, a tube of the CeraVe cream, or Gold Bond Healing Hand Cream in my bag. I also carry a Eucerin SPF hand cream. And I keep a “cuticle oil” pen in my bag to re-oil my nails and hands as needed; preferably one that contains no perfuming essential oils.

Oh, and if you normally use an alcohol based hand sanitizer, consider switching to a hypochlorus acid spray, at least while you’re on the go. That ingredient is antibacterial and antiviral but not drying. And the sprays are a good way to rehydrate hands before applying more moisturizer. A very trendy option is Tower 28 Beauty Mini SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray with Hypochlorous Acid 1 oz/ 30 mL  , but I keep a mini bottle of SkinSmart Antimicrobial Wound Therapy in my bag instead. It’s pretty much the same product at a much lower price. Eh, there are other brands out there too.

That seems like a lot of effort, yeah, I know. 😅 But it’s the best way I’ve found to keep my dry inflammation-prone hands happy.

Re: Looking for the best hand cream for extremely dry skin

@WinglessOne  I use The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL with my gua sha tool and love it, but haven't yet tried it as a moisturizer. I'll have to try it out when we get our week or so of snow here this winter, because the dry air always wrecks the skin on my calves, for some reason. Great idea!

Re: Looking for the best hand cream for extremely dry skin

@Westcoasty  If The Ordinary sold that oil in a gallon jug, I’d routinely slather my whole body with it. 😂 It’s not occlusive enough to be a standalone moisturizer, but it’s fantastic to layer under one. I hope it works well for your calves!

This reminds me to search (again) for large amounts of rosehip oil elsewhere. I’ve seen a few stores and Amazon carry it. Note to self.

Re: Looking for the best hand cream for extremely dry skin

@WinglessOne   Hmm, interesting. I admit that mixing an oil with a moisturizer is a fairly new concept to me, or I suppose in this case layering them. I'll have to try that if my calves are really fractious this winter. Thanks for the tip! And I hope you find your gallon jug. LOL

Re: Looking for the best hand cream for extremely dry skin

@charmie729C  I think @faeriegirl and @SportyGirly125 have given you some great suggestions. I use L'Occitane's hand creams myself. However, my absolute favourite is the Lano hand cream. Sorry I can't link to it, as Sephora no longer sells it, but it worked miracles on my hands when they were cracked and blistered from all the pandemic hand sanitizing. It also doesn't make your hands greasy, which makes it a unicorn product to my mind.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

@charmie729C Skinfix Hand Repair Cream 3 oz/ 89 mL or Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream 2.5 oz/ 75 mL
