Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

Hello! I am looking for a gentle everyday facial cleanser. Right now I use the biore baking soda acne scrub but that seems very harsh as I don't have much acne and it dries out my face really bad. If you guys could give me some recommendations I would really appreciate it!

RE: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

The First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser is very mild and really good for sensitive skin. Also removes makeup really well, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight.

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

My fave fash wash on days that i don’t wear makeup tend to be the following:

- CosRX low pH cleansee

- Simplistic BEGIN cleanser (big discovery this year, so gentle yet so effective in cleansimg power)

- CeraVE hydrating cleanser

trust me when it comes to cleansers you do not need to spend the big $$$, make sure you pick something with low pH and scent free to respect your skin barrier =D

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

I have sensitive combo/oily skin and lately have been loving:

  • Caudalie Foaming Cleanser
  • Fresh Soy Cleanser

In the past, I used:

  • La Roche Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cleanser - I now find it a little too drying for me as my skin has gotten a little dry with the cold.
  • Cetaphil - I initially liked it but in the past few months I stopped using it as I felt it left a film on my face.

If you don't have acne, I would stay away from cleansers that contain salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, and sulfates as all of these an be very drying to the skin.

I hope you find this helpful!

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

Purity, Murad, and Dr. Brandt irritate my skin. I have a very sensitive skin but I can't use just any product that has the "for sensitive skin" on the label. I use Dermologica's oil cleanser to take off my make up (once a day) and I use Dermologica's Clay Cleanser twice a day. I sometimes leave it on for two minutes so that it works like a mask. I like the cleanser because it really cools my skin and that closes my pores. I've been using it for a few months now and my skin has been happy. Good Luck!

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

My everyday face cleanser is the Cetaphil Gentle Face Cleanser from Costco/Target. It's been my go to for years, and I rarely ever break out. It's super gentle, and I find it very moisturizing, especially on my flaky, dry skin during the winter. And it cuts through grease from my oily skin during the summer. It's gentle enough to wash off my makeup, but with mascara it's a bit trickier. I do vouch for CeraVe, too, but I think I just prefer the scent and consistency of Cetaphil. For a higher end face wash, I really like the Fresh Soy Cleanser, especially the scent! I think it's a nicer version of the Cetaphil one. I love the Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser too. Not a lot of people talk about this one, though. The Tatcha Facial Cleanser is GLORIOUS for makeup removal and as a face cleanser, too! I think that one is perfect for sensitive skin. I have really sensitive skin, like I can't even use the Fresh Rose Water Spray because it burns, and I instantly turn red. But with the 5 other products I've mentioned, no flare ups 🙂

I love Philosphy’s Purity cleanser. It’s incredibly gentle on the skin, smells and feels fresh but still leaves your skin super clean! My sister has oily skin and I have dry skin, but we also have sensitive skin. We both swear by this one to get the job done!

Re: RE: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

Purity made simple is really good.   I find it a bit more drying than fresh, but way more affordable.  Good suggestion!

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

I have to agree with the Fresh Soy Cleanser!

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

A cleansing milk might work better for you. I like pure + simple's sensitive cleansing milk. I think REN also has a couple that are gentle, but I find pure + simple takes off makeup better.

I love the Origins Checks and Balances cleanser. It is super gentle. Depending on the time of year (and month) my skin needs different things. I use the Origins cleanser every day along with a facial scrub about every 2 to 3 days. This cleanser also works well with a Clarisonic.

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

@Anonymous I really love L'Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil. I used to have issues with dry/combo skin and it's really helped balance and normalize it.

RE: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

@Anonymous CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. You can find it at any drugstore. It’s the most gentle cleanser ever! It’s also very hydrating. I use it every morning and I absolutely swear by it.

I agree with the others, Fresh Soy cleanser is very gentle. Even my eleven year old has used it with no issues. Outside of Sephora, Cetaphil is great and can be found at drug stores.

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

The most gentle and least drying face cleanser I've used is fresh soy face cleanser.  I highly recommend - it does not lather up a lot, it's kind of like a gel consistency - but works well for me.

Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

I love the fresh soy face cleanser. It feels so soothing, but also adequately cleansing.

RE: Re: Looking for a gentle face cleanser for sensitive skin!

I would suggest Glossier’s cleansing jelly and my personal HG, Neogen’s green tea cleansing foam. Both are fresh, very light, add gentle moisture without irritating.

Lol @Susubee, we posted the same suggestion, at the same time

😍 I love the fresh cleanser too!
