LA MER? is it good?

I see that LA MER is stupid expensive. Is it worth the price?

Re: LA MER? is it good?

@Marrrryyyyy I think La Mer can be a polarizing brand.  I've only used La Mer Crème de la Mer Moisturizer for Anti-Aging and Barrier Repair 1 oz/ 30 mL

thanks to a generous sample I received for testing purposes.  I was surprised by how much I liked it; it really plumped up my eye area.  In the end, though, I didn't make a purchase due to the price.  I also don't care for the smell, and the texture was a little thick for me.

Re: LA MER? is it good?

@Marrrryyyyy Some products are a hit or miss. It's a luxury brand and it's up to your skin if it's worth it.

For Creme de la Mer or the Soft Cream for example, it's a niche product, so for me and my skin I say no it's not worth, but for my mom who's older with very dry skin, she praises it. She has tried so many products from brands high and low, even the German Nivea, and they don't come close to the formulation and long term moisturization of the Creme.

I just feel like I don't belong in that niche and I don't care for the ingredients much. It's worth trying if you have very dry skin. You can get samples if your Sephora carries La Mer. Bloomingdale's, Neman Marcus, and Nordstrom also have La Mer counters where you can get samples.

Re: LA MER? is it good?

@Marrrryyyyy I have several skincare items, at this point I have alternatives that work just as well; however LA MER - The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20

LA MER - The Powder

are in a league of their own in my opinion.

@GG84 good to know!! thank you!!

Re: LA MER? is it good?

@Marrrryyyyy  The only thing I ever repurchased was The Eye Concentrate, but I would say overall it isn't worth the money. At least the skincare isn't. I own the original setting powder and it's really nice, especially for dry skin. The Lip Balm is average, The Concentrate and various moisturizers I tried were underwhelming. Also petroleum is a main ingredient in a lot items, which doesn't justify the price. I don't hate petroleum, I just don't want to pay $175 for such a cheap ingredient.

Re: LA MER? is it good?

@suzyo ditto!

I've never tried the eye concentrate, but the items I did try where average for the price point.

Same applies for the La Prairie items I've tried tbh.

Re: LA MER? is it good?

@Cyncynn I've always been curious about La Prairie, good to know 🙂

Re: LA MER? is it good?

@suzyo Most luxurious packaging I've ever seen though lol

Re: LA MER? is it good?

@Marrrryyyyy I have tried several La Mer products and yes it’s expensive but it’s worth every penny in my opinion. I would try samples before committing.

@SportyGirly125 I definitely will try some samples! thank...
