Kiehls calendula water cream

Any feedback on this? There’s very mixed opinions so far as I can see. Silicone being the main issue. Ty 😊

RE: Kiehls calendula water cream

I wanted to do a mini update on this. I tried it out this morning, it’s very very slippery which is to be expected with a water cream, but like the Tatcha water cream doesn’t have that much slip, it definitely feels more watery than this one and absorbs nicely. I put this one on about an hour ago and haven’t added anything else. and I still have a slippery film on my skin. Ugh just not feeling it honestly!

Re: Kiehls calendula water cream

@Yasmine80 A few community members received this product Kiehl's Since 1851 Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream 1.7 oz/ 50 mL

as gratis. You can check out the gratis thread for feedback.

Re: Kiehls calendula water cream

@Yasmine80 For the price I think you could do better. I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with dimethicone but it can clog pores and is essentially diaper rash cream- so definitely good for some skin irritation/ concerns but not probably necessary for everyday for most. Another benefit to the silicone for some would be that it'd make a smooth canvas for makeup, but that's what a primer is for IMO and I prefer my skincare to just be skincare.

At the same price point I really like YTTP's Antioxidant whip or Origin's Ginzing which are both clean, light, fast-absorbing formulas without the silicone ingredient. If you're someone who wears makeup every day and never goes without, this might be a better option but IDK

RE: Re: Kiehls calendula water cream

Thanks! I did just order a trial size because I do like Kiehls, and I love calendula, so I had to see, but I definitely don’t want to irritate my skin, and some of the reviews were a bit alarming. I wonder if it could work as an occasional use primer ? I’m just surprised Kiehls put that ingredient in there!

Re: RE: Re: Kiehls calendula water cream

@Yasmine80 I mean it depends on your skin type for sure. Personally silicone/dimethicone have never been problem ingredients for me but since they don't add value for me either I generally go with another product has better ingredients for my personal use/skin. With the GWP offer I definitely think the trial/sample is the best way to go since it should provide enough uses to make a good decision. Best of luck!

RE: Kiehls calendula water cream

Personally haven’t tried it but one of the main ingredients is dimethicone, which is silicon based and not the best for your skin. I would stay away from this product.
