Is drunk elephant and glow recipe and more viral skincare good for 11 year olds?

So my daughter likes skincare a lot and I want to get stuff for her but I have heard mixed things about this stuff so I was hoping someone could tell me

@Taylor4life13 I don’t know about drunk elephant, it is very expensive and hard on young skin. Maybe start by leaning toward cheaper, more gentler skin care. I suggest CeraVe, Byoma, or maybe even Bubble.

I’d also find out your daughters skin type. That helps a lot. Knowing what ingredients and products will help their skin will make them feel more luxurious. It will help them be at their best skin state!

Maybe, if you feel like treating her, you could try a sample size of a drunk elephant moisturizer. While drunk elephant is good, it has harsh ingredients, and some products such as the Babyfacial and the T.L.C serum have high concentrations of AHA, which is rough on young skin. Please make sure to check the label when purchasing.

A reminder that aesthetic can influence purchase, and it can make a product’s price seem more justifiable. You can get great items for closer to ten dollars.

I hope this helped!

@Taylor4life13 Both brands have rave reviews. My wife loves glow recipe and I’ve tried a few samples of Drunk Elephant and enjoyed them.

With skincare, what works for one person can be terrible for another because not all products work with all skin types. The best thing to do before buying is figuring out her skin type. Get her to wash her face well with cleanser, pat it dry, and wait a few hours. Dry skin will start to feel tight, while oily skin might start to look greasy or shiny. Normal skin won’t really feel or see anything. If she experiences something but it’s limited to only certain parts of her face, then she has combination skin. Once you know her skin type, it will help you eliminate products that might not work well for her and you can avoid wasting money on something she won’t use.

At that age though, I would start off exploring simpler skincare with fewer active ingredients. Build a basic routine together and then she can add to it as her skin changes. A simple routine consists of cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Repeat twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening, skipping the sunscreen in the evening.

Cetaphil, Cerave, Aveeno, and Byoma are all great brands and are easy to find at your local drugstore. I use them too in my routine and they work well without breaking the bank. They also have amazing reviews and show up on social media quite a bit. If she really wants to shop at Sephora but you want to keep things on budget, check out The Ordinary or The Inkey List. Both brands are affordable yet effective and you can find sets that she can try.

@JoSometimes The ordinary and the Inkey List are both amazing brands!
