Is Dimethicone in EVERY foundation? Anyone know of a dimethicone and cruelty free foundation or BB cushion?

I use Everyday Minerals foundation (base), which is silicone free. It's nice and I have large pores. It's a powder foundation. No silicone. Doesn't break me out. Every other one I tried till then caused breakouts. But lately I've been testing a primer underneath, which does minimize pores more, but the primer has silicone. I'll see how it goes. Silicones (in the form of -cones and -siloxanes) are in about 98% of foundations last I checked. It's unfortunate because many formulas get discontinued because they "emphasize pores", when in reality they just don't fill them and everyone is used to using silicones. One good thing about the rise in "clean beauty" is that more silicones free products are coming out of that side of the beauty industry. What type of foundation are you looking for? I have a large list of silicone free makeup. If you tell me the coverage level, formula type, and finish I can give you some recommendations!

I moved to using a natural foundation that is not sold at Sephora but what I do buy from Sephora is   BAREMINERALS - COMPLEXION RESCUE™ Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 It provides light-medium coverage, and sunscreen. I have combination skin so coverage in hotter/humid weather is more difficult to not melt, but in spring/fall/winter, both of the options I use work well. I set with spray or translucent powder.

I've been wearing complexion rescue for a decade and always believed it was silicone free but I recently looked up the ingredients and noticed dimethicone in it! I haven't found anything online about the formula changing and I feel like I'm going crazy!

I use DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE Instant Radiance Sun Defense for light coverage when working. I don't think its cruelty free but it definitely has helped with cone related acne for me.  Milk may have something suitable if you don't need a sunscreen... Good luck on your hunt

If you are that concerned about silicones you should check out your serum/moisturizer/spf. In general silicones in skincare and makeup end in siloxane or methicone.

@am210 If you do a google search for "Silicone free foundation" it will take you to a link of 30 foundations that are Silicone free. We can't post links in here, sorry.

I think most of the liquid foundations contain silicone/dimethicone, or some variation thereof. If you're not opposed to a mineral foundation, you might want to try the original Bare Minerals foundation.
