In desperate need of deep hydration for sensitive/dry 50 year old skin!

Hello!  I am looking for an awesome moisturizer for my sensitive - normal to dry skin.  I am 50 years old and am looking for deep hydration and comfort in a bottle.

Let me know your favorites!

Thank you.

@RadiantBliss, I have dehydrated, combination skin that veers towards dehydrated, dry skin in the wintertime.  I find that layering a hydrating serum before my moisturizer or mixing a drop of a facial oil with my moisturizer to be helpful with keeping my skin hydrated.  In terms of moisturizers, when my skin is more dry, I like the BELIF - The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb.

In terms of hydrating serums, there are several out there that you might be interested in, including  Drunk Elephant B-Hydraโ„ข Intensive Hydration Serum with Hyaluronic Acid 1.69 oz/ 50 mL  or FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repairยฎ Hydrating Serum

For facial oils, The Ordinary. Rose Hip Seed Oil is a good one, as is  tarte Maracuja Oil 1.7 oz/ 50 mL .

This past winter, I used the belif Moisture Bomb and a hydrating serum in the AM and mixed the Tarte Maracuja oil with the belif moisturizer in the PM, and had very good results.

Honestly the best thing I have ever tried is the Cetaphil Extreme Moisture with Hyaluronic acid for dry/extra dry skin. It worked wonders for some dry patches I was dealing with in the fall.

Using Korean skincare has improved my skin.  I like to do the 5 or 7 skins method.  I use Korean moisturinzing toner and it has helped my skin stay hydrated.  I also use Niod Mult-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex.  I have skin conditions and sensitive skin so I have to say on top of it.

Re: In desperate need of deep hydration for sensitive/dry 50 year old skin!

Iโ€™ve been revamping my evening routine this year so trying various moisturizers. Im 45, with normal to dry skin, fine lines, and roseacea.

Khielโ€™s is excellent - watch for some formulas still have parabens, though.

Despite being a skeptic, a โ€œBeauty Offerโ€ monthsโ€™ size sample of La Mer Gel Cream made me a believer - outstanding all-day moisture, comfortable soft and smooth skin, non-irritating and fast absorbing.

Regenerist by Olay - red jar, silver cap - is too much for my face in summer, so may be worth a try if youโ€™re super dry. Really comfortable, sinks in fast.

A plug for IT Bye Bye UnderEye- hands down the best performing eye cream iโ€™ve ever tried, period. Only one iโ€™ve ever bought a second jar of. Obsessed. Instant and long term de-puffed under eye area, brighter, and smoother. Started using six months ago, and four people have told me i look rested and happy and healthy and have i been on vacation? That was in the first month i started using it. My skin looks, and feels, amazing.

As a result I am currently trying IT Confidence in a Cream, but sadly not loving it so far... feels super creamy going on and absorbs fast and nice under makeup, but my face feels dry by end of day. Only two weeks in, though, and everything needs a month for me to know for sure... it does feel great going on though!

Finally, cant say enough about SK-II Essence as a starting point. It makes my skin so soft, seems to help it prepare for cream, and itself feels moist and comforting. I would say the texture change was three months of daily use, but love it now and whatever else i use, this comes first and is my go-to. Havenโ€™t tried their creams yet.

I also have dry, sensitive skin that has gotten even more dry in recent years. I have very fair skin, so I spend a lot of time indoors, out of the sun. Unfortunately, this usually means dry air from heating, A/C & fans. My personal favorite is Kiehlโ€™s Ultra Facial Cream, the regular one without SPF. I usually put H2O+ Oasis Hydrating Treatment on first, then follow with the Kiehlโ€™s, both morning and night. The H2O+ line is available on Amazon. I love how my skin just drinks in the Kiehlโ€™s without feeling sticky or greasy. I use different products for under eye and neck/dรฉcolletage, but I donโ€™t like them as much as I love the Kiehlโ€™s Ultra on my face.

@RadiantBliss  I love Consonant HydrExtreme for a hydration boost.  I know it's a not a cream but thought I would mention it anyway. It's a very lightweight serum that can be applied alone or mixed with your moisturizer. It really helps dry skin even dry patches. This is a must have for me as I also have dry sensitive skin. It's sold at Sephora Canada and was sold at some point at Costco in the US. Unsure if it's still available there though. I'm pretty sure the brand also ships to the US.

@RadiantBliss Check out Josie Maranโ€™s 100% Argan Oil or Argan Milk. The Milk is incredible and soothing, and the 100% Argan Oil is great for moisturizing and plumping. The Whipped Argan Face Butter is nice and hydrating.

Hi @RadiantBliss, I would recommend Drunk Elephant Lala retro cream. It is super hydrating and has very clean ingredients. Or try Drunk Elephant Protini cream which has proteins to help stimulate collagen and is moisturizing ๐Ÿ™‚

I have sensitive skin but a little younger than you and these products did not break me out. Plus it has no flavor/aroma or parfum/fragrance.

I second Lala, itโ€™s a very comfortable and effective moisturizer that has ingredients that Iโ€™m comfortable putting on my skin @RadiantBliss ๐Ÿ˜„

Hello @RadiantBliss I would recommend looking up biologique recherche this line of products has specific skin care for age, climate of where you live and skin type. Itโ€™s life changing. Also if you live in Philadelphia or NY they have a place called rescue spa -you can get facial there - where they target everything to your skinโ€™s needs and give you recommendations for what products to purchase for your skin and itโ€™s amazing.

Thank you so much!  I actually use the P50 from them and am intrigued by the whole line but overwhelmed at the same time too.  I am headed to NYC in a few weeks and they have a Rescue Spa there!  I will make an appointment today! xoxo
