I waxed my upper lip and need advice...

2 days ago I waxed my upper lip for the first time, and it looked really good right after I did it.
but yesterday little white heads popped out on the area that I waxed.
the little bumps pop really easily when touch them, but they come back almost immediately.
what can I put on my skin to make them go away???

Re: I waxed my upper lip and need advice...

Waxing is a simple procedure, but there are aftercare steps that you need to take when you leave the salon. For example, you should stay out of the sun as much as possible for at least 24-hours. It’s also a good idea to stay away from pools with chlorine in them, to avoid irritation. And avoid exfoliation, or other scrubbing treatments that could irritate the skin, as well as hot environments.

I wax too and have had this problem in the past.  When this happens to me, it is because I don't wash my face well that night, after waxing.  To avoid this, make sure you wash your face really well (at least 20 seconds just like when you wash your hands).  I exfoliate too.  Then use a toner to get any residual make up off and apply a moisturizer to prevent oil from building up.  After waxing I will use organic extra virgin coconut oil for moisturizer (but only at night, because I look way too greasy to be seen in public).  It is antimicrobial and therefore is GREAT for acne and acne prevention.  You will wake up with smoothe, fresh, acne free skin!  Good luck 🙂

That sounds incredibly painful, but I work at a spa and can probably help you out! If your skin is anything like mine... and I guess we don't have much way of knowing... you probably need to use a toner/astringent on the area. I get my eyebrows threaded and wax my lip myself, and waxing opens up the pores and follices, which can lead to little bumps or pimples. This mostly happens with my eyebrows. I literally bring a bottle of toner and a cotton pad with me and as soon as I'm done getting threaded, I cleanse the area with the toner. It burns, but it tightens up and cleanses the open follices, which prevents bumps, pimples, and futher irritation. The upper lip is much more sensitive than eyebrows, so if this is your first time getting waxed, just try holding a cold wet washcloth on the area. If you continue to get waxed more regularly, or are feeling up to it... try the toner suggestion! I hope this helps 🙂

Ouch! That must suck!

Your skin is just VERY irritated at the moment, and need to be soothed. I'd recommend the First Aid Beauty Cream... it is VERY soothing and will calm down the irritation.

If you want to use something quick/ a DIY option.. use natural oatmeal, and cleanse your skin with that. Youtube BubzBeauty Oatmeal Cleanser, if you want to know more.

The oatmeal is very soothing.

Also, I'd recommend putting some aloe vera on the area & leave it alone. You are probably just allergic to the type of wax you used.. or your skin is very sensitive.

Hope that helps!!

BTW- Don't worry about it too much! It will heal and go away in no time!! I remember my friend had her upper lip waxed and it ripped off her skin!! So, atleast that didn't happen to you!
