I have a question

I have terrible problem with black heads on my nose. I have tried facemasks and nose strips and all they pull out is SF. If anybody has suggestions please let me know.

RE: I have a question

A well-formulated BHA is likely the most effective product to add toyour routine! You could also try the “how to shrink pores temporarily” method from Fifty Shades of Snail. (Just search for it and it should come up — didn’t realize that we’re not allowed to post links here! 😬)

Re: I have a question

@summerrainmathi I'm going to 2nd @greeneyedgirl107 on this. The Paula's Choice bha makes a huge difference in blackheads.

Re: I have a question

@summerrainmathi I highly rec checking out Paula's Choice BHA products.  They come in 1, 2, 4 and 9%.  I started with the 2% and moved onto the 9%.  After that, if you are still struggling then you may wish to ask your derm if you are a candidate for Retin-A.

Using a gentle liquid cleanser like  First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser – Gentle Hydrating Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL is helpful.  Using oil blotting sheets throughout the day can make a difference.  I like Target's brand.  A clay mask like  CLINIQUE Pore Refining Solutions Charcoal Mask 3.4 oz/ 100 mL is good.  Using a scrub can be helpful IMHO at times, but my fave has been reformulated a few times so I don't have any rec's.

Best of luck!  🙂

Re: I have a question

Hi @summerrainmathi,

I struggle with this as well! Right now, I'm trying the CLINIQUE Blackhead Solutions 7 Day Deep Pore Cleanser & Face Scrub with Salicylic Acid 4.2 oz/ 125 mL  that I got in my PLAY! box this month. It has Salicylic Acid which is great for clearing the pores. Another product I like for clearing blackheads/pores on the nose is a good charcoal mask. I love charcoal because it just sucks everything out of your pores. I really like the ORIGINS - Clear Improvement® Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores.

Re: I have a question

@summerrainmathi i struggle with this too! Did you know that often times the ones on your nose are not even blackheads? They are likely these things called sebaceous filaments (SFs), which fill up a large pore.

For me, using the sensitive skin brush with my CLARISONIC SKINCARE - Mia Prima Facial Cleansing & Pore Minimizing Skincare Device works best with a cleanser like the ORIGINS - Zero Oil™ Deep Pore Cleanser. I don't press down with the brush - you don't want to stretch out those pores any further!

When I have a bit more time (and $$), I'll use a BHA like DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum or The INKEY List Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL and then follow up with a clay mask like INNISFREE - Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask or FRESH - Umbrian Clay Pore Purifying Face Mask. After you take the mask off, follow up with a cleansing oil like Biossance Antioxidant Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil + Squalane 6.76 oz / 200 mL to massage those SFs right out of your skin!! It's a lot of steps, so I try and do it once a week. Maybe start with some samples from the store to see what works for you.

Re: I have a question

Thank you so much! I have a hard time telling of they are SF. They are smooth but won't comeout, the bumpy ones do come out.

Thank you for the recommendations but do you have any recommendations for chemical solutions, or cheaper products?
