How do i get rid of texture on my forehead?

I've recently noticed that I have small tiny bumps all over my forehead. Please leave any suggestions of products I should try!

Try the ole henriksen walnut scrub

Don't use things with walnut shell powder because it causes tiny cuts in the skin

Second on the chemical exfoliation route. I use a glycolic toner and do a peel every 3-4 weeks, both from The Ordinary (not familiar with any glycolic toners from Sephora and the only peel I've used is the Philosophy set, which requires scrubbing). If I do scrub, which is rare, I try to do it very lightly and use something fine-grained and smooth. Typically, it's Botanics Age Renewal Microdermabrasion Polish, which is a good dupe for Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion (which is amazing and at Sephora and apparently there's even a pore version now?), mixed sparsely in my oil cleanser. I might consider adding a mild BHA/salicylic product in as well, whether it's a dual AHA/BHA product or BHA in toner or face wash and something like the AHA pads. (I'd try to keep them both at the start of your skincare routine, though, since both work best at low pH levels.) You can use the AHA—glycolic, lactic, mandelic, whatever makes your face happiest—to exfoliate and have the BHA just do the job of penetrating and deep-cleaning pores. (Also, normal tips like wash your face after conditioning your hair, clip your hair out of your face when sleeping, change your pillowcases as often as possible.)

I really like using the Farmacy exfoliating cleanser because it's super gentle and gets the job done without it being to harsh since I have sensitive skin

Don't overdo it with the physical exfoliants, though they are important. Try and keep it to once or twice a week and use good cleansers and gentle chemical exfoliants in between. My holy grail for skin texture is the FAB Facial Radiance Pads, but for a bi-monthly/monthly chemical peel try the Dr. Dennis Gross alpha-beta peel pads, as already suggested. Good luck!

Re: How do i get rid of texture on my forehead?

Chemical exfoliants like AHAs are good for smoothing skin. You just have to be cautious when first starting them to see how your skin reacts. Starting out by using an AHA 1-2 times a week is a good rule of thumb. Then you can work up to 3-4 times a week. It's very important to always wear sunscreen when using AHAs and other chemical exfoliants (and any other time really). Physical exfoliants can help as well but can be a little more harsh. Also, using an oil cleanser can help. I found that my skin became more clear and smooth when I started double cleansing. The most important thing when trying to treat issues like this and exfoliating is to not overexfoliate and compromise your skin barrier. That becomes painful and will take months to repair. Hope you find something that helps!

RE: Re: How do i get rid of texture on my forehead?

To the OP: Word of caution—how frequently you use your AHAs will definitely depend on the product/concentration. 🙂 2-8% toner? Daily should be okay. Things like overnight treatments? 1-2x per week, after initial daily use, if indicated. The pads? As others described. If you happen to grab a 30% glycolic peel, every 2 weeks max. (Admittedly used to do twice weekly, but then became smarter. Ish.) 70% peel? Don't.

Hi Allgy93, I had similar issues but personally avoid manual exfoliation as I don't like to make my skin sore (I imagine lots of microtears on my sensitive skin). What I discovered is a brilliant product I use daily, or when needed. Try out Dr. Dennis Gross - alpha peeling pads. They are individually sealed and the treatment comes with 2 steps. Very hygenic, simple and effective. I swear by these. My skin texture, pores and eveness sets the perfect base for foundation or a light tinted moisturizer. Hope this helps!

exfoliating! exfoliate everyday and use primer. Use light products to moisturize. Alot of creams are heavy. Using a simple lotion or a water base cream will be good.

Double cleanse your skin to make sure that it removes all makeup. You have these bumps usually because of clogged pores. Double cleansing your face will remove all makeup and unclog pores.

Thank you for the tip 👍🏼

Re: RE: How do i get rid of texture on my forehead?

So, I had/have tiny forehead bumps, too. Recently, they've started clearing up. I use adalpene gel from my dermatologist at night and benzoyl peroxide gel during the day (I also have regular pimples on my cheeks).

But what do I think REALLY made a difference with the little bumps? Changing my diet. I actually went on a diet to lose weight, which caused me to eat much healthier. Some people say cutting sugars is what helps with the little bumps (obviously don't cut all sugar... but if you are like pre-diet me and consume tons of it, cut it down!).

RE: How do i get rid of texture on my forehead?

A good scrub and moisturizing daily really helps the skin! If the texture doesn't go down with a shift in skincare, I'd look into a smoothing creme, or pore filler type product. They smooth out the skin and your foundation will glide right over it

Re: RE: How do i get rid of texture on my forehead?

Only thing is that if you have acne, scrubs might not be the best idea since they can irritate the skin. If you only have the little bumps, though, then maybe it is ok.
