My skin is Dry to Combination, I’m struggling with Acne & dryness around my nose. I’m a male & i have no idea where to start. Someone help, please!

Re: Help

Hi @Anonymous ! Welcome to the skincare community. Skincare can be totally confusing and stressful, I'd love to help! I would also like to say that all skincare is good for any gender. When companies make 'Men's Care', they're really just wanting extra coin, because men don't need seperate skincare! It's all for everyone 😊 Just thought I would let you know. Okay! Now let's get into your routine...

1. Cleanser. Washing your face 1-2 a day (depending on your skin) is super important. It helps clean your skin, and wash away any dirt, oil, or impurities. It also helps your products penetrate deeper into your skin. I would suggest First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser – Gentle Hydrating Cleanser   Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Cleanser   Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser 4 oz/ 120 mL  .

2. Treatment. A treatment helps with any issues your skin might have. You said you struggle with dry skin, so I would recommend a hydrating serum. The INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hydrating Face Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL  is great and affordable! I would also suggest The INKEY List Niacinamide Oil Control Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL  which helps with acne and skin texture. The Inkey List is a great, simple, and affordable brand, and they have lots of wonderful products!

3. Moisturizer. Moisturizing will help prevent dryness and make your skin healthy and glowy. I love SEPHORA COLLECTION All Day Hydrator - Hydrate & Glow , but Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Refillable Moisturizing Cream with Squalane  First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream  Youth To The People Adaptogen Deep Moisturizing Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi Mushroom 2 / 59  are also great!

4. Sunscreen. Many people don't know this, but SPF is the most important step of your routine! It helps protect and moisturize your skin, and prevent aging, and help with skin tone. Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 PA+++ is great! Wear a sunscreen every morning, even if you're not going outside!

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions, have a wonderful day 🤗

Re: Help

From the drugstore, I would recommend the CeraVe salicylic acid cleanser. The Inkeylist has one that is even more effective. Don't let the word acid scare you, these formulas are not drying whatsoever and are very gentle yet effective for helping keep acne under control. The Cerave Foaming cleanser is one of my favorites as well. I also really like The Ordinary Squalane cleanser and Earth to Skin Super Greens. For an upgraded experience, my holy grail is the Herbivore Pink Cloud Milky Jelly Cleanser. For acne prevention, I recommend the Paula's Choice 2% BHA solution. It's a hydrating, gentle chemical exfoliator that works wonders for the skin overnight and over time as well. It's truly incredible. I also HIGHLY recommend the Krave beauty great barrier relief to help with both the dryness and acne. It has incredible ingredients that restore the skin barrier and help nourish your skin. For moisturizer, I would recommend finding a texture you like first and then go from there. On here, I'd recommend the Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé, but at the drugstore, I'd go for Cerave moisturizing lotion, Versed dew point gel moisturizer, or Earth to Skin honey gel cream. The Versed one has niacinimide which will help with combating excess sebum/keeping the oils and breakouts on your face under control. If you need extra moisture, I'd supplement with the Ordinary hyaluronic acid serum. It goes on before your moisturizer or you can even mix a drop of it in with it. I would definitely start your routine with the basics. Cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen. But after you got that down pact, that's where you can add in things like the Paula's choice BHA or serums. If your skin is dry look for ingredients such as: squalane, sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, peptides, aloe vera, beta glucan, propanediol, panthenol, coco glucocide. If your skin is struggling from acne look for ingredients such as: niacinamide, centella asiatica, salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, green tea extract, kale extract, ginseng. Avoid products with citrus peel extracts, denatured alcohol, witch hazel in high concentrations, sodium laurel sulfate, and try to stay away from fragrance in products you leave on your face. This excludes cleanser since it's a wash-off treatment. I will link some products below and the ones I mentioned to hopefully help you with beginning your routine. I have oily, acne-prone skin btw but I've struggled with dry patches and eczema in the past.

Re: Help

Hi there!
I recommend taking a look at the first aid beauty collection! I would suggest the following: pure skin face cleanser, facial radiance pads, ultra repair cream, and the FAB pharma BHA acne spot treatment Gel 2% Salicylic Acid. The products are on the more expensive side, but they work. I hope that this helps!

Re: Help

Try out CeRave products; I heard a lot of good things about their foaming cleanser for normal to dry skin
