Help with Sunday Riley Good Genes! Thank you

I was gifted Good Genes I have been using it every night and my skin broke out and is red. My reason for buying it in the first place was skin texture, redness and spots i took a pic to explain better aka show my mess I have two questions is every night to much? Second I keep hearing that I should be using the Luna oil from some people others say the water cream then others say get the ufo I’m getting confused lol help thanks loves!!

Hi. You’ve already gotten great advice. And, I agree- I would stop using GG. It is such a great products, so you may want to slowly try it again once your skin goes back to how it was before. You mentioned you want to work on your skin’s texture. I would recommend The Ordinary’s Retinol Serum. Again, start out slowly. Another product that helps me with texture is Origins Re-texturizing Rose Clay Mask; it’s gentle yet effective. Hope this helps!

Oh no, sweetie, that looks like an allergic reaction!  I recommend to not continue using Good Genes unless you check with your dermatologist or doctor! 😞

I use Good Genes every single day and I haven't had issues, but I have heard some people react to it and also with Luna Oil.  Maybe before buying Luna Oil since it is not cheap, you can try to get a sample from Sephora in store to make sure you don't have a reaction.  Good luck!   @Anonymous

Agreed, this is a reaction @Anonymous

Are you new to acids? If you dove right in to use every day, your skin might react because acids need to be introduced slowly. Every night is definitely too much if you're new to acids and it may still be too much with a new product.

I would stop usage immediately. After your face has healed, if you want to continue to try to use this you'll have to introduce it very, very slowly. Use once, then wait a week or two to see if you react. If so, stop. If not, try another time and see how it does. Do this no matter which acid you want to introduce to your routine.

It took me a few months to work up a tolerance to the product without breaking out. I do use Good Genes but only once a week. The pH of this is very low, much lower than an AHA needs to be, so it's not for everyone.
