Help with Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 Please!!!

Like I really really REALLY want to like this stuff. It looks great on my face color wise, and I can tell that it's doing some good things for my skin. My problem is that whenever I follow the directions and use a light moisturizer underneath, this stuff never really dries. It just sits on my face like a heavy, greasy mask. I can't put powder or anything else on top of it because the Dr. Jart Cicapair CC Treatment just slides around and gunks up my makeup brushes. I have waited as long as 1 hour between moisturizer, this, and any makeup/setting powder with no luck. On the other hand, when I skip moisturizer, the CC Treatment will actually dry to more of a matte finish... but it clings horribly to any slightly dry spot. I am using about a chickpea to small lima bean size amount on my entire face and neck. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to make this product wearable? Here's my full morning routine if the information is relevant: - Kiehl's Ultimate Facial Cleanser - Origin's Mega Mushroom Soothing Treatment Lotion -Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum - The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum (occasionally cocktailed with TO Hylaronic Acid serum) - Philosophy Purity Made Simple Lightweight Moisturizer (occasionally cocktailed with one pump of Kiehl's Glow Formula Skin Hydrator) - Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30. I have also layered Kiehl's Superfluid Daily Defense SPF 50 before or even after the Cicapair CC Treatment. I am concerned that I am not getting the full SPF 30 benefits from the Cicapair with as little as I have to use to make this product halfway wearable. Using the Kiehl's sunscreen had no effect on how the Cicapair wore/felt on my skin. Thanks for the help!!!

I think waiting 10-15 minutes for your moisturizer to dry then putting this on will really help.

@wareagle0223 , thank you for raising this question!  I have the same exact problem with the Dr. Jart+ Cicapairโ„ข Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 1.7 fl. oz/ 50 mL  and thought that I was the only one; interestingly enough, none of the many, many rave reviews on this product ever mentions this issue.  I'm going to try your idea of wearing SMASHBOX - Photo Finish Primerizer and @flamingolegs 's idea of a hydrating serum underneath, skipping a traditional moisturizer, to see if I can get the Cicapair cream to dry down.

I thought it was just me too! Everyone seems to be falling all over themselves with the Dr. Jart, and the few negative reviews I saw were for it being way too drying. Dr. Jart says that it has a matte finish, so I was really stumped when it would never dry down on my combination skin! I don't know what made me try it with the leftover Primerizer sample I had because I was not impressed with it at first lol. They both wear beautifully together too. Thank you for your reply, and I hope it works for you too!

Re: Help with Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 Please!!!

@wareagle0223 I'm glad you're getting some really helpful responses in this thread, because I have the same problem with it. I don't like the way foundation sits on top of it, and I absolutely have to wear it over a moisturizer because it highlights every dry patch. I've started using it only on my rosacea (apples of the cheeks and in between my eyebrows), and only on days when I don't want to wear foundation. Multiple thin layers, tapped onto the skin, seem to work best. I'm wondering if it will be better in the summer when I'm naturally a bit more dewy...

I didn't expect to get any replies- let alone ones with really great advice! I couldn't find anyone having this problem either. This product seems to work well for very dry (with a traditional moisturizer) and very oily (with no moisturizer) skin types. If you're anywhere in the middle of that spectrum, then it's just a lot of trial and error. What's confusing is that Dr. Jart seems to insist that this is not a moisturizer and you MUST wear a moisturizer with it. Thank you for your reply! I hope you found something helpful on here!

@wareagle0223 Haven't used Dr Jart's, but another option, if you can't get Dr Jart's to work well. No7's new product is similar, has tiger grass as well. Called Rescuing Skin Paste. Used 1-2x week, apply with included brush, leave on for 5 minutes then rub excess into skin, not wash off. It's supposed to help reduce redness. I've used it once so far, so too early to review.

I looked up that product and did some research... I'm very intrigued! Thanks for the suggestion! It's now on my radar, and I am definitely interested in trying this- regardless if the Dr. Jart ends up working for me or not. No7 isn't a brand that I actively seek out, but I have no complaints as far as the products I have tried/used in the past.

That No7 seems to have decent reviews so far. It's not a brand I typically use either.

Re: Help with Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 Please!!!

@wareagle0223  I don't use this that often but when I do it's instead of my moisturizer and SPF, since I do find it to be kind of heavy. I do use my regular skincare (toner + essence + serum) and use a more mattifying foundation on top and don't really have any trouble with it staying of my face or sliding my makeup around.

Thank you for your reply!! I'm thinking this will be the best strategy for me, too. Dr. Jart insists that this is NOT a moisturizer, but I'm starting to feel like that advice was meant for the drier skin types. I tried it today with the addition of some Smashbox Primerizer underneath (small sample that I forgot I had lol), and it helped a LOT with the heavy/greasy/slide-y feeling. It still took a while to dry, but it did eventually dry! And I was able to put on some blush and powder without gunking up my brushes, too! Yay progress! I'm going to replace my usual moisturizer tomorrow with just the Smashbox Primerizer and see if that works even better. Thanks again!

@wareagle0223  glad to hear something worked out for you! I might try doing that too and see if that works even better for me.

Re: Help with Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 Please!!!

I use a lot of those products, but on days I use the Dr. Jart+ Cicapairโ„ข Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 1.7 fl. oz/ 50 mL

I don't put a moisturizer on top of or under it.  Instead I use a cocktail of KIEHL'S SINCE 1851 - Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate and DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firmaโ„ข Day Serum under it.

I don't use the Dr. Jart all over my face, only on the red areas mostly on my cheeks and chin, and then use a moisturizer on the rest.

I haven't had any problems and after a few minutes it has completely dried.

Thanks for replying! I actually used some Smashbox Primerizer today in between my normal moisturizer and the Dr. Jart. Like I said to @makeitup305, the Primerizer helped tremendously! I'm going to try replacing my usual moisturizer step with just the Smashbox Primerizer and see what happens. My skin seems to be oily enough that both a regular moisturizer along with the Cicapair CC Treatment (the way Dr. Jart seems to insist lol) is just waaaaay too heavy. On the other hand, my skin is dry enough that it still needs a little bit of something with moisturizing benefits... but not necessarily a regular moisturizer. Thank you again for your help!!
