Flakes on foundation

Hey, So first just keep in mind that i'm using retinol and other acne creams okay? I scrubbed my face with sugar and olive oil (not harshly just to get red of dead skin cells and flakes) , then cleansed with a clean & clear cleanser, after that I put an ultra-hydration mask on then after all of that I put face cream on (twice!). My foundation has a dewy finish so i was surprised to see that after I blended it with the beauty blender my face had flakes and was patchy This is definitely not the first time i wore this foundation it was perfect at first idk why is it acting up now. P.s: the foundation is true match by loreal and my skin is combo.

RE: Flakes on foundation

Hi @salsubaie. I use prescription-strength retinol and other acne topical meds and found that I was getting dry, flaky skin as well. I was doing all that you were doing with moisturizing, etc. What really helped me was to start using my Foreo Luna with a moisturizing cleanser. Within days, the flaking cleared up and it’s no longer an issue for me. I still use an essence, moisturizer, and face oil on my skin but the Foreo Luna has made a world of difference. If you have one or a Clarisonic, I suggest trying that with a gentle, moisturizing cleanser such as Cerave. I like the Korres Greek Yoghurt cleanser for nighttime. That should help your foundation and the rest of your makeup go on smoothly.

RE: Flakes on foundation

Sometimes this can be due to dry skin. I would switch to a hydrating cleanser and a more hydrating serum and moisturizer. I know once I changed this my makeup was never patchy again. Also use a primer.
