Fine lines on my forehead

Iโ€™m only 23, but Iโ€™m starting to notice the wrinkles in my forehead are becoming more prominent. I take care of my skin and drink a lot of water. I wash with my Clarisonic Mia 2 daily, use face masks ever other day and make sure Iโ€™m always moisturizing. Iโ€™ve been using the IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce moisturizer which I feel like works great on all the other parts of my skin just not my forehead. Anyone have advice for other products to try??

Fine lines on my forehead

Retinols! Only at night, definitely always remember your sunscreen, (you can use Vitamin C in the daytime, under sunscreen, it can strengthen the effect of your sunscreen) otherwise all your hard work will just go down the sink. A good inexpensive gateway are the Rรถc line of serums, and Olay and Neutrogena also make well-rated options. I recently started using the Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel Pads, which I love.

Re: Fine lines on my forehead

You should totally start using a daily chemical exfoliant! I would also suggest maybe cutting back on the Clarisonic, as over time, this could POTENTIALLY introduce more fine lines because in the slighest bit you're tugging on your skin with the brush.

So back to the chemical exfoliant, I use Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. IT'S AMAZING. Since I was in high school, I would get weekly under the skin pimples on my chin. I started using this product a year ago, and have not had one under the skin pimple... This stuff is not drying (I have dry-ish/sensitive skin), and since it is a chemical exfoliant it will remove old skin cells that build up and eventually lead to fine lines (the bottle even says it's great for fine lines). You can even use the slightest bit under your eyes (yes, you heard that right), to further prevent the formation of future wrinkles (only pat the product under your eye with a cotton pad, do not swipe! Also, only do this if you use a daily eye cream).

Next, I recommend you start using a Vitamin C serum. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and helps mitigate the effects of environmental effectors like pollution and sun damage. Sun damage is the leading cause of fine lines/wrinkles! SO MAKE SURE YOU ALSO WEAR A DAILY SUNSCREEN (this is the best advice I can give you)! And also, you should start wearing eye cream to prevent those fine lines while you're at it too!

You already said you use a really good moisturizer, so after moisturizing (give it a few mins to absorb into the skin), you should apply a FACIAL OIL (at night)!!!!! This is the absolute last step of my routine. The facial oil is going to seal all of your products in and prevent them from essentially evaporating out of the skin. The reason why you apply the oil last is because oil molecules are the largest. Serums have the smallest molecules (step 1 in skincare), followed by eye cream, and moistuizer. Since serum has the smallest molecules, it can penetrate into the skin much deeper. If you were to apply a facial oil FIRST, the other skincare products wouldn't be able to penetarte through the oil molecules. So the facial oil will lock everything in, thus, further preventing fine lines.

Also, I'm 22 and the reason I'm on this thread is because I have the same concern. I've recently been looking into low dose retinols, or some much less active derivitive to maybe start incorportating into my skin care routine. I know the pros and cons of retinol, and that's why I'm hesitant of using it at such a young age. You should do some research on Vitamin A, which is a deritive of retinol, which might help get rid of the fine lines. But since you're still young, the best advice is to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Definitely start using a chemical exfoliant, as well as a facial oil!!!! Sorry for the rambling!

This one is on the pricy side, but the best I have ever come across at getting fine lines under control. And a little goes a long way so you can make it last a long time. The Sunday Riley Good Genes. This is definitely a splurge product. But if you donโ€™t want to buy it you can get a free sample in any Sephora store, the will let you try before you buy. Then if you are as impressed as I was you can buy it at another time... Maybe during a good sale? ๐Ÿ˜œ

The Ordinary hyaluronic acid serum! Sephora just started stocking it, it is online only. Affordable, worth a shot. I use it every morning to keep my skin looking plump.
