Eye Cream for Malar/Festoon Mounds?

I am trying to find a good eye cream that will help me get rid of malar mounds from sun exposure and lack of sleep (college student life). People often say I look tired and depending on the day underneath it may be more blueish. Plus the malar mounds/ eye bags actually sit on top of my cheek bones, people call it malar mounds. I don't want them to get any puffier. Help, please!

Patty, do you have any updates on this issue that we share?

Malar bags (festoons) are the worst, imho. I'm developing them since lockdown, and wearing facemasks daily did not help them at all! Considering laser spa treatments, as I don't like the idea of anything too invasive.

Also, if you use makeup to conceal them, do you mind starting a thread about that? I'd be interested.

Thanks!

@Shesme most eye creams I don't believe will help with mylar bags or festoons.  I have the bags as well, and honestly, I just deal with them.  BUT, that isn't what you came to hear.

What helps with an eye cream is a moisturizing one and then applying a concealer right where the shadow of the bag appears, and then blending it in.  The creaminess of the eye cream sort of helps distribute the concealer without it looking patchy IMO.

Also, I will always tell someone to put that eye cream in the fridge because coolness helps with depuffing. (It also just feels really nice.)  You could use metal spoons or reusable eye patches to the same effect.  I also have a eye serum roller in my fridge.  I use it when I have had some heavy salt food the day before with some swelling or a late night.

Facial massage can help, too.  You can always look into a fairly priced gua sha or roller.  You can also use your own fingers, but it's a daily practice and I honestly don't have the patience for it.

Thanks! That's all great advice.

I think I'm going to explore the current laser treatments available. There's always hope. It's a pretty common issue, I think.

You're welcome @Shesme !

Oh definitely, add I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever option you pick.

Hello, I just joined this community and noticed your question. Did you find anything that helps reduce the malar bags.  I have this problem and I hate the way I look. Drags down my face and ages me by 10 years or more 😡😢

No, sadly 😕 to prevent it from getting worse bc of sun exposure, I have started wearing sunscreen every day. I learned that is what you are supposed to do anyways. Still wish there was something to make them go away though!
