Dupes?

Hey! So I'm wondering if there are some dupes for skincare like serums, moisturizers, toners, and cleanser? I'm trying to save money and still end up with the same or similar results. Thank you!! 😁

Re: Dupes?

So the good thing is the are products you can really safe money on like cleanser, toners etc. Others , unfortunately will not work that well and they will be cheap and worthless. Not sure how old you are, skin type/ condition etc, that will also influence the price. Many brands offer minis , promotional kits etc. It’s also better to o less but better quality than overload your bathroom with products. That being said, ordinary is pręty good, Sephora brand , neutrogena. Look on line on different websites and check promotions

Re: Dupes?

Hi! so for serums me and my sis LOVEEEE the ordinary! For a cleanser I love the bubble fresh start, the cerave hydrating cleanser but I depends on your skin type, if you are looking for a micellar water  I recommend the rose garnier one and if you are look in g for a cleansing balm I recommend the versed one.  For moisturizers I have repurchased the bubble slam dunk and I also love the bubble cloud surf and the Byoma moisturizing gel cream! And for a toner the bubble bounce back balancing mist is amazing! Hope this helps! Bye!

Re: Dupes?

I need more skincare

Re: Dupes?

Bubble, Byoma, avatara, elf, essence, colourpop and Nyx are some of my fave brands

Re: Dupes?

There are some dupes on temu I’ve seen people love them I’ve seen people hate them it’s definitely controversial

hope this helped! 🩷

Re: Dupes?

hey! Some things that are great and cheap are...... ordinary serums which are 7$, glow Recipe mini tonner is good and 15$ and lasts a long time! For moisturizers, the ordinary moisturizer is 12$, and for a cleanser is Ordinary cleanser your welcome also if ur trying to save money I would go to Targot.com and get some things from CeraVe skincare its cheap and good for you!

Re: Dupes?

@L0V3RGIRL check out The Inkey List,  they make some great products

Re: Dupes?

Hey @L0V3RGIRL ! My skincare routine’s a mix of low, medium, and kinda high (not crazy “luxury” high) priced products by various brands. Right now, my highest priced product is an Avene retinaldehyde serum. I’ll start testing The Ordinary Retinal 0.2% Emulsion Serum 0.5 oz / 15 ml  within the next month to see if it’s a good lower cost option, though it contains a higher % of retinal than what I currently use.

My low cost products, including moisturizers, serums, and some cleansers, are made by CeraVe, Vanicream, COSRX, e.l.f., The Inkey List, and The Ordinary. There are plenty of great inexpensive and effective products out there! Which ones are best for you depends on what specifically you’re looking to replace in your routine, and what you want each product to do for your skin.

Oh, and one way to save money on sunscreen is to use a body sunscreen on your face. Many brands make both facial and body versions of sunscreens, and the biggest difference between them is usually texture/spreadability. Body sunscreens usually come in larger sizes and cost less per ounce than facial sunscreens. One of my favorite examples is Native’s unscented mineral body sunscreen, which works just as well for me as the facial version of that same sunscreen. Bondi Sands makes a body version of their chemical facial sunscreen that also works well on the face.

Re: Dupes?

The Ordinary serums are pretty cheap. It's also good to see if the brands you love have any mini versions that in turn will cost less.

Re: Dupes?

@L0V3RGIRL,

Trader Joe's often has dupes for certain items, most recently laneige lip mask (Valentine's set and vanilla), the supergoop sunscreen, SDJ body wash/scrub/lotion.  There's also a thread THE DUPE THREAD!!! as well as The Comparison/Dupe Beauty Thread .

Then there's affordable skincare from the Inkey List, The Ordinary, Sephora Collection.  Elf and Good Molecules are also good choices, just not available here.
