Dry skin issues??

Hey guys, I am having an issue with applying makeup to my face. It refuses to smooth out, and is like this clumpy blotchy patches on my face. I have heard that this is dry skin issues, so I started to change up my routine by washing my face with a little face scrubber. It has helped a lot but it's not fully working 100% there is still these blotchy patches and I'm just wondering what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be great.

RE: Dry skin issues??

Effective Skin care is the secret to flawless makeup application! I also have dry skin, so I make sure I use gentle cleaners and always moisturize. Sometimes if my skin is Really Dry I use Hyaluronic Acid 2% by The Ordinary before my moisturizer as it allows your skin to hold a vast amount of moisture. Add this to your regimen at night for smooth application in the morning. Plus it’s only like 5 bucks! Try it out!

Hmm, I never thought about using hydrochloric acid moisturizer. Recently I have been using Prem since someone said it was good as Tatcha water cream but I found it leaves my face super greasy afterwards. Thank you so much for helping me, I greatly appreciate it. ^- ^

RE: Dry skin issues??

I am having similar issues along w/ some others: Dry Skin = Blotchiness: under my cheek bones - corner of lip to jaw line Oily Skin = Blotchiness: nose, chin, forehead Wrinkles & Acne = BIG ISSUE: forehead, around eyes I have not found any type of “foundation” that I am happy with thus far. Sooo in the meantime, I’ve been using a combo of prod (my mom gave me samples) that pro more even toned skin, smooth & silky texture of skin, reduced acne, reduced dryness, moisturized skin, a subtle glow, & gave oily skin a matte texture (oily skin does return after a few hours tho). 1. Face Cleanser - daily: Lancôme Crème Radiance Clarifying Cream-To-Foam Cleanser Normal/Combo Skin (removes make-up, leaves skin smooth & moisturized) HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 2. Face Cleanser - daily: Cleanse & Nourish w/ Active Retinol Facial Cleansing Wipes (removes waterproof mascara, also wipe skin & neck w/ them once bc they moisturize & remove make-up & other gunk from neck + when doing yard work, I take a break & use one to cool my face & remove some sweat/dirt) I purchased them from TJ Maxx. 3. Face Mask/Clearing Treatment - 1x weekly: Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment 4. Argan Hydrating & Detoxifying Treatment - 1x weekly: Josie Maran Whipped Mud Mask - Lavender Citrus ~ 1 pea size amt of all prod combined on clean hand & app w/ clean fingertips (when I app each prod sep, I would have uneven cov & some prod would form little “waxy balls” dur app, so I tried the all @ once approach & it worked) ~ 5. Differin Adapalene Gel 0.3% (acne gel from Target) 6. Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Sérum Resurgence Powered By Retinol - technically supp to be used @ night, but daytime works 4 me (min fine lines, wrinkles + firms & smooths skin texture) 7. Cover FX Mattifying Primer w/ Anti-Acne Treatment 8. Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer (u choose the tint 4 your skin color, hydrated glow, boosts look of dull skin, enhances complexion) 9. Lancôme Advanced Génifique (MIRACLE TREATMENT for my skin - has made a HUGE diff in every poss way) It is $, but will last a long time - only need a pea sized amt. or less - flawless app - HIGHLY RECOMMEND . ~ I allow all prod to “soak” into skin & then I apply ~ 10. Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder (skin looks smooth, feels light on skin, does not look blotchy bc it is translucent, not cakey) Normally, I would app after foundation. Allll of those prod above are used only as a moisturizing base! They do work for now as my everyday go to routine bc my skin is slightly tan due 2 summer/swimming. I use Tarteist Contour Palette 2 add a little color (no blotchiness). I am missing a concealer, foundation w/ sunscreen, a bronzer, & highlighter due 2 blotchiness! Frustrating! I went to Sephora yest & tried a sample of Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For Mineral-Matte CC Cream SPF 30. It was rec by a Sephora assoc. 1st I tried app w/ fingertips (disaster & way too much prod was on my face). Tried again w/ a brush looked like a #90 PRO Featherweight Complexion brush, but could be wrong. I should have asked! I used a fast dabbing tech toward by jawline. I have noticed b4 that when u have dry skin, trying diff app tech sometimes helps. We will see if this prod works. So far I’ve tried the following diff types of “foundations” w/ no luck: Bare Minerals loose powder, pressed powder, liquid, tinted hydrating cream, Neutrogena Skin Clearing Complexion Corrector, Benefit POREfessional, Tarte CC Cream, Urban Decay Liquid (do not recall type), Tarte full coverage powder foundation, Almay liquid foundation (skin clearing)... maybe others as well. Recently, my mom’s plastic surgeon told me 2 use Philosophy prod & essential oils known to ben the skin (Vit. A, Vit. C, Rosehip, etc.), help w/ dryness, & improve collagen reproduction. I have not tried that route yet. My mom’s plastic surgeon also does micro needling on her face & her skin is flawless @ 62 yrs old! My parents have the income to afford treatments, fillers, etc. My husband & I do not have that kind of $. I have read MANY good rev re: Drunk Elephant & Paula’s Choice products, but what works for 1 may not work 4 another. Sorry my post is soooo long! That was prob entirely too much overwhelming info! I am a very detail oriented person, seriously... diag OCD & OCPD. My sincere apologies! I just wanted 2 be as helpful as possible. I hope @ least 1 detail included in my novel is beneficial for you:)
