Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos + A-Passioni

I have heard that you cannot use both TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum with the A-Passioni Retinol Cream, but I’ve also heard you can stagger the two and get amazing results (generally speaking regarding glycolic acids and retinols). I used to use Sunday Riley Luna oil (containing Retinol) but found it did nothing for my skin. Currently using TLC Framboos mixed with the Virgin Marula Oil every night and find my skin has gotten better in regards to acne and blemishes, but recently received the A-Passioni Retinol cream in a value set, which also included the Framboos serum. Has anyone used both these two Drunk Elephant products before? What is the suggested use?

It’s safe to use both a glycolic acid and retinol products together. Glycolic acid is a chemical exfoliant that promotes cell turnover and helps shed dead skin cells. Whereas retinol boosts collagen production and plumps the skin to diminish faint wrinkles and early signs of aging. I’ve been layering chemical exfoliants with retinol for years and have had no issues. It’s also important to keep your skin well hydrated with a good moisturizer and wear SPF to protect the skin from harmful UV rays since these products make your skin more vulnerable to sun damage. As always, do a 24 hour patch test to detect possible reactions. If you’re still weary of using them together, you can alternate when you use each product.

Thanks so much!!

@JVR1990 I use them both together. I had been using the TLC with the marula every night. When I started using a-passioni I only used it twice a week and wouldn’t use TLC the same night. Then I moved up to 3 times per week still not using the same night as TLC. Then I started using TLC every night still mixing with marula and my moisturizer and then before bed I would use the a-passioni mixed with more moisturizer. Now my skin is used to both products I can use them together with no problem. Just definitely introduce the a- passioni slowly and if your skin gets irritated stop. And definitely use plenty of SPF😊

Hi @JVR1990 I’ve started on prescription strength retinol, and just last week I risked it and used the Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial It went fine for me. Not sure you’re supposed to, but... I did follow it up with Origins Mega Mushroom Relief & Resilience Advance Face Serum, in the hopes that if the combo did upset my skin that serum would hopefully soothe it. In the end I don’t know if I needed that or not. It seemed to go fine.

Thank you so much! Do you find that your skin has gotten better using both? 🙂

@JVR1990 I have definitely noticed a difference in fine lines and I very rarely have breakouts now😊
