Drunk Elephant C-Firma

Hey everyone! I've been using 1 pump of C-Frima mixed in with 1 pump of DE B-Hydra serum for the last few weeks. A few minutes after use I find my skin feeling a little tight and dry? Has anyone experienced this? Is this common for Vitamin C?

I would expect B-Hydra to be well hydrating but my skin feels like the opposite? Any recommendations?

RE: Drunk Elephant C-Firma

I personally love applying my B-Hydra with my C-Firma together but after that dries I still put on a moisturizer after. I don't find B-Hydra is enough for my combo face to go without moisturizer afterwards.

The bhydra is for hydration. The lala and marula are for moisturization.Look up the difference between hydration and moisturization. If you have dry skin you need a moisturizer because you're not even using one so lala or marula. I mix cfirma with bhydra then apply lala after and protect all my work with umbra sunscreen otherwise you will undo everything you just did. Very important! All the products can be mixed, so there's no need to even wait to apply... at night I use tlc mixed with marula and bhydra. It does wonders for my skin! Also the marula oil is amazing for extremely dry and peeling hands. I applied it to my entire hands after a shower and seriously it's like I never had dry hands. I wait for it completely absorb and the oily appearance will go away. I swear by this!

Re: Drunk Elephant C-Firma

If you have dry skin, I'd recommend a different moisturizer than b-Hydra. If you like Drunk Elephant, the Lala is supposed to be super hydrating. For me, I put the C-Firm on then a little of their Marula oil (I love it for day since it absorbs so quickly). Then I put on a day moisturizer (right now Caudalie sorbet) and lastly my sunscreen. My skin is combo, normal/oily and this works great for me.

Re: Drunk Elephant C-Firma

I love the C Firma for all its other benefits but I definitely don't think it's hydrating and I experience a little "tightness" on my skin after I apply it. My usual routine is apply C Firma first, wait a few minutes for it to absorb, then layer on other hydrating layers like the B Hydra and other moisturizers. Hope that helps!

Re: Drunk Elephant C-Firma

p.s. Depending on your skin type, just the B Hydra might not be enough. I use the B Hydra as kind of a hydration booster layer and then put on another moisturizer on top (lighter layer for summer, a little heavier for the dead of winter).

RE: Drunk Elephant C-Firma

I use both and have oily-combo skin. I don’t mix them, I apply the C serum first and after a few minutes the B Hydra. Maybe try it that way instead of mixing and see if it improves. What skin type are you? Maybe try the DE LaLa cream if you’re drier or in a dry climate during winter?

Re: RE: Drunk Elephant C-Firma

Thanks, I'm dry-combination and live in a dry climate so its only getting worse! I will try them separately

RE: Re: RE: Drunk Elephant C-Firma

You may want to get a sample of the LaLa cream then and layer that over the C Serum or even both that and the B Hydra.
