Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

First of all thank you to @TeamBIC  for everything that you guys do. Last week I saw that a virtual event was posted for Glow Recipe, and thought it would be fun to join, and to learn more about the products and company. Once I emailed my request to be part of it, I was confirmed soon after, and was sent an email regarding the zoom code, and what time it would be.

I went on to the zoom meeting at 5pm pacific time, and have to say that I was a bit surprised that it was only the co-founders on camera, and not my fellow BIC members, since i knew that some of them including myself, were all excited to show our support for them in our glow gang sweater. After the co-founders waited a bit to make sure all the people showed up, they started the masterclass.

They spoke about their own skin first, so that we knew in a sense with who we can relate to, such as combo skin, oily, dry. They then spoke about their products and how to apply them, and what fingers and movements they make when applying the products. They then answered a few questions, but sticking to what they see fit. I kind of expected a spoiler maybe, but they were tight lipped about that. Honestly the class was fun though, and it was nice to listen in, and get some tips. Also after the class a few fellow BIC members and I had a mini photo done, since heck we looked cute.

Way to go Glow gang, this this amazing!!

RE: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

Hey Glow Gang! While it was disappointing that we couldn’t all see each other, I’m glad I was still able to chat with some of you during the call. Thank you so much to @TeamBIC for putting this together for us! I love these Masterclasses because I want I be able to connect with the brands. The founders Christine and Sarah are so sweet and took the time to answer all of our questions. I’m a new mom so I was concerned about which products I should steer clear of for now, they said everything but the avocado products with retinol should be fine to use. I really enjoyed the Masterclass in person with Tatcha last year, I hope once things clear up with this virus that we can get back to doing those amazing in-person events again. Hope everyone is being safe and doing well! P.S. Yes, @JeffreyBD is totally to blame for this hoodie purchase 😂

Re: RE: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

@Mcakes Thank you for the info.  I wish they would bring back the avocado mask that didn’t have retinol in it.

Re: RE: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

@SportyGirly125 I didn't have the chance to try it that way, that would be nice to have!

Re: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

@Anastasiya13 Thank you for starting a thread! Your review captures it all well and love those pictures with matching hoodies!

I enjoyed attending the class. Overall it was a nice walkthrough of different skincare routines using Glow Recipe products and the thought process behind why certain ingredients were chosen and how they work well together.

I too wish there was a chance for more interactivity between the BIC members and the panelists, and am dying to know what they are cooking up next!

Re: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

@lnum  No problem, and thank you very much. Considering it was barely their birthday too, I think they have some other things cooking, I just hope its a few things for the banana line.

Re: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

Thank you so much @TeamBIC  for putting this together and @GlowRecipe for hosting a fun meeting!!!

I really loved the format and how engaging they were with the comments. I also really liked how they explained their products. I do have to say I was left wanting a little more... a little more general education, a little more education on how all their products can all work together, etc. Because of my skin type I have to be careful with certain ingredients... even being careful has put me in hot water before and resulted in more damage.  So I was expecting to get a deeper understanding so I could feel confident in what I would be purchasing. Sadly that didn't happen and I'm not willing to risk it. Maybe it's easy for most to try products and see how it works for them, but for me certain types of products can create more damage that can't be easily repaired. I find people in my situation are often overlooked... heck I could barely find general information on the internet. Overall I think there needs to be more education for specific skin types/conditions since there are so many strong active ingredients on the market. People will just slap it on and will end up doing more harm than good. So that's where my disappointment comes in... I was just expecting more information.  Sorry if this isn't what people wanted to hear but I have to be honest. Thank you!

Re: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

Thanks for starting the thread @Anastasiya13 !!!

I thought the @GlowRecipe Virtual Masterclass was a lot of fun!  @SarahGlows and @ChristineGlows have an amazing dynamic and they are incredibly knowledgeable about skincare! I love how they explained the influence of Korean facial treatments on their products!

I'm already a huge Glow Recipe fan and have tried all their products, but I did takeaway a few new tips from the class:

• You can spray the Watermelon Glow Mist on your brush or sponge before applying your makeup for an extra glowy look

• In K-Beauty, toner is your treatment step and is meant to soaked in to your skin, not wiped away

• It is best to apply eye cream right after cleansing and toning and before moisturizing to protect the delicate eye area, rather than applying as your last step

• Bananas are good for preventing motion sickness because of their balancing properties, which was the inspiration for the Banana Souffle Moisturizer

• It is important to still cleanse your skin twice a day, even if you're not wearing makeup in quarantine.  Hair can go a few days without washing, but skin is different and it is important to remove buildup

The only downside to the class was seeing people's real names in the chat since it was on Zoom, and I wasn't sure who they were on BIC.  I also wish we could have seen each other!

Thank you again to @TeamBIC for the chance to attend the class!  I hope we do more of these in the future and maybe even a virtual BIC Meetup to hang out with each other!  And thank you to Glow Recipe for a fun and informative evening!

P.S.  i blame @JeffreyBD @Mcakes and @heartsmyface for the Glow Gang hoodie purchase

Re: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

@Tamara76 @TeamBIC

I second a virtual BIC Meetup. This has certainly come up in conversation with a few community members in the NYC area, and a virtual Meetup would allow us to connect on a larger scale rather than region specific like the in-person events.

I miss all you lovely people and talking all things beauty!

Re: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

@lnum I miss everyone here, too!💗

Re: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

@sprocketta  Those sweaters are so cozy too. I cant wait for it to be winter here(Los Angeles), so that I can wear it more often.

Re: Community-Exclusive Virtual Masterclass with Glow Recipe’s Co-Founders Review

@Anastasiya13 What a fun zoom meeting. I know @Tamara76 @Mcakes and @heartsmyface were talking about it on Instagram. How fun.
