Combo skin acne

Helloooo

I have oily-combo skin (combo skin where it’s oily in the t-zone) and my concern is the bumps on my forehead and chin where I’m oily that have bothered me for a while.(photos below) My current skincare routine leaves me extremely oily when I do it in the morning. I NEED TREATMENTS, CLEANSERS, MOISTURIZERS, SERUMS, SUNSCREENS THAT CAN HELP ME SOLVE THIS

Re: Combo skin acne

Less is more honey also sometimes acne is also genetic so if your mom had acne you might but if your looking for a a breakout kit I use the inkey test breakout 101 kit and I feel like it’s helped. But it also might be what your eating so try to cut down on the dairy and candy.💚 hope this helps love ❤️

Re: Combo skin acne

I don’t have an entire routine for you but a great product to start twice a week and build up to 3 times a week is the paula’s choice perfecting exfoliant (a dupe is the Naturium BHA Liquid Exfoliant) 2 times a week and in the morning, after cleansing but before moisturizing, use a niacinimde serum. My favorite is from the Inkey List. Hope this helps!!

Re: Combo skin acne

Hi @Isaisbetter !

Sometimes our skincare routine might actually be harming us.  Try only washing your face one weekend with water and a wash cloth (no makeup either). after doing this Sat and Sunday, how does your skin feel Sunday evening?

My point in getting you to do this is that our skin is super smart. If you see acne and decide to throw everything you have at it , such as salicylic acid, acne treatments, Acne masks etc etc....the reason your skin might be oily after is that it is trying to combat all the drying treatments you just did.  It feels dry, so it then over-compensates and releases oil to rebalance your PH levels.

The key is to treat the face without having it shift too much from is baseline barrier.

So first, find out what kind of skin you have absent of everything by going without for a weekend. That should tell you if you are dry, oily, combo or normal.  Then you can start to tailor things from then on.

Let me know if you do the test...and how it went!
