Cleansing oil acne prone skin

What is the best cleansing oil for acne prone skin? Something that removes makeup and can be used as a first cleanse.

Re: Cleansing oil acne prone skin

@sarahellyse I was curious about this, so I looked up products on beautypedia.  They list the best cleansing oils as:

PC Perfect Cleansing Oil

Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil

FAB Milk Oil Conditioning Cleanser

Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil

IDK which ones are best for acne-prone skin, though.  🙂

Re: Cleansing oil acne prone skin

For my oily, acne-prone skin I've had no issues whatsoever with the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil and the Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil! If you're looking for something that is more detoxifying and sensitive skin safe, I'd recommend the Boscia oil.

Re: Cleansing oil acne prone skin

I second the Boscia recommendation. I use that, followed by their Clear Complexion cleanser, and in addition to the other steps of my routine, which does include a retinoid, my acne is well controlled. I feel like my skin is clean, but not stripped to death. They make a smaller size of the oil, which actually is a better buy than getting a big bottle, so you can try it out without dropping $30+.

I second the Kiehl's Midnight Recover Oil enthusiasticall...

I second the Kiehl's Midnight Recover Oil enthusiastically. I switched from using MAC's cleansing oil, which I think is great, but I feel like MRO is even better. It really helps remove all my makeup, and my combo, sometimes acne prone skin likes it.

Re: Cleansing oil acne prone skin

@sarahellyse, i know it’s not a cleansing oil, but my favorite product to use for first cleanse is the Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm. I love it! It works so well and is gentle and doesn’t break me out (the Clinique cleansing balm did).

RE: Cleansing oil acne prone skin

The best recommendation I can give you is the Tatcha camellia cleansing oil. While it may be cost more than others, a little goes a long way, and it does not sting your eyes. I would take advantage of the upcoming sale and purchase a bottle!! 😀

this is my go to over all high end removers... and it is garnier miceller water. its a cleaners, removes makeup and very gentle on the skin.

Re: Cleansing oil acne prone skin

My personal favorites are the Shiseido Perfect Cleanser and The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil.

RE: Cleansing oil acne prone skin

I like Josie Maran’s cleansing oil. I have acne-prone skin and have never broken out from it. I just had delivered (from Amazon) the Banila Co Clean It Zero Purity cleansing balm. I have not tried it yet, but it is a first step balm to oil cleanser that is meant for sensitive skin (just make sure you get the Purity one). I have also tried the Amore Pacific cleansing oil and it worked well.
