CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser?

You’ve probably heard this a million times but I hate it!

this product destroyed my skin! Before using it I had the occasional pimple or two around my period (always cystic, takes month to vanish sometimes). But after using CeraVe my cheeks and chin were covered in pimples and my skin was actually super dry!

it was a huge let down for me because everyone talks it up so much only for it to flop for me.

I’d definitely try to research before purchasing it and even reach out to people who’ve used it with a similar skin type to yours. Their word isn’t law but it’s somewhere to start!

TL:DR I’ve got eczema and thought CeraVe hydrating cleanser would do wonders for me but it trashed my skin. AVOID!!!

Re: CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser?

i’m going through the same thing right now. i switched from neutrogena to cerave facewash after i was told the neutrogena was “stripping my skin” of its natural moisture (although it felt fine to me). i’ve been using the cerave oil control (counterpart to the hydrating one) for almost a week now and my skin feels oilier and is breaking out more than ever... someone suggested maybe my skin is “purging”? idk how long to try it before i switch back...

Re: CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser?

I'm sorry CeraVe hydrating cleanser didn't work for you @Sunniiee. Personally I enjoy CeraVe hydrating cleanser as a 2nd step in a double cleansing routine or a gentle morning cleanser. That said, I would in no way trust it as my only cleanser and way to remove makeup. We all have different skin types and concerns and there is not a one size fits all product. I hope you find a cleanser that you love!
