Can you please share your simple skincare routine? Looking for a 2-3 step simple routine :) Thanks!

Hi,

I'm looking for a simple 2-3 skincare routine with generally simple products, if anyone has some products they absolutely love please let me know! I have combination sensitive skin which can be acne prone.

Hi girl,

The best skin care routine i use is I was my face twice a day and I.T helps so much. I was my face with water in the morning and at night I use a facial cleanser called Cerave following with an overnight moisturizer called Clinique. I.T helps so much

Hi @KimiKake ! If you just need a skincare routine for good maintenance of your skin with occasional acne control:

Night:

  1. Cleanser - any gentle hydrating cleanser that doesn't leave your skin feeling tight, dry, or "squeaky clean." I have mostly-dry combo skin. Each night, I use the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Bar on my face and body in the shower. That's the lathering solid version of the non-lathering creamy CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. Also consider cleansers by Vanicream and Cetaphil. If you want a Sephora-sold item, you could try The INKEY List Fulvic Acid Brightening Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL ; I haven't tried it but know a couple folks who love it.

A couple times a week, swap that cleanser with a salicylic acid (BHA) cleanser for acne control. Lather it on your face, let it sit a couple minutes, and then rinse it off. I like The INKEY List Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL (2% BHA) and Paula's Choice CLEAR Pore Normalizing Acne Cleanser 6 oz/ 177 mL (0.5% BHA), but CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser (2% BHA) and CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser (don't know the BHA %; it's probably 0.5%) are also good options.

  2. Moisturizer - Vanicream, CeraVe, and Cetaphil make good ones. So do Aveeno and Paula's Choice. I use Paula's Choice CLEAR Oil-Free Moisturizer 2 oz/ 60 mL at night because it plays nice with one of my other PM oil-containing products. But lately I've been alternating it with Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion

Morning:

  1. Cleanser (optional, as needed) - not everyone needs to wash their face each morning. I often gently wipe my face down with a wet plush microfiber cloth (like a Makeup Eraser). If I do need a cleanser, I use a very gentle non-lathering one: Paula's Choice RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser, The INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm 5 oz/ 150 mL , or Paula's Choice Omega + Complex Cleansing Balm 3.5 oz/ 104 mL . Some folks like CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser in the morning.

  2. Moisturizer - can be the same one you used at night. My usual AM moisturizer is Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer

  3. Broad spectrum sunscreen - at least SPF 30, applied to ALL skin exposed to sunlight, all year long, regardless of weather or season. Which one's right for you depends on your personal preferences. It can be chemical, mineral, or hybrid; all 3 types work largely the same way, and one's not safer than the others. If the sunscreen contains at least one good moisturizing ingredient (shea butter, squalane, petrolatum, etc.), you might be able to skip the moisturizer step and let the sunscreen pull double duty. A popular sunscreen is Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 PA+++ . That's one of several sunscreens I rotate throughout the year. My others are made by Native, La Roche-Posay, Dermstore (they have a great tinted mineral sunscreen), Eucerin, and more.

If you need more acne treatment, slot a "treatment" step between cleanser and moisturizer either day or night. Which acne product(s) you need depends on the type of acne you have.

Re: Can you please share your simple skincare routine? Looking for a 2-3 step simple routine :) Thanks!

Step 1 The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL

Step 2 REN Clean Skincare Ready Steady Glow AHA Toner 8.5 oz / 250 mL or Farmacy Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Cleaning Toner with Moringa + Papaya 4.0 oz/ 120 mL

Step 3 Farmacy Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL or

Step 4 First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Cream Intense Hydration

Step 5 Fenty Skin Cherry Treat Conditioning + Strengthening Lip Oil .19 oz / 5.6 mL or Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

I have acne prone skin and i used to do a 7 or 8 step routine but when i cut it down to 4 (not including lips) i have a huge improvement in my acne.
