Best way to get rid of dark circles?

I have really bad dark circles under my eyes and i've tried so many things to get rid of them.

RE: Best way to get rid of dark circles?

My dark circles used to be very pronounced, but a combination attack significantly lessened them over time. Do not rub your eyes - you are essentially bruising the delicate area. Obviously staying hydrated and getting enough sleep help. I really like the Clinique all about eyes roller ball to keep any puffiness at bay, and it can easily be layered with other eye products. An eye cream with caffeine, vitamin K, etc. also perk up the eye area. In time you may still need some brightness under your eyes, but for me this helped decreased the bruised and battered look significantly.

Re: Best way to get rid of dark circles?

Sometimes dark circles can be a product of your sinuses. I've always had dark circles and no matter how much sleep I got they were just there because of my sinuses. Take a step back and assess whether this is a part of a bigger problem if you're already doing the usual disaster control(drinking water, getting sleep, etc)

@Anonymous

Are these dark circles a trait you've had your entire life, or a newly occurring patch of hyperpigmentation?

Usually, dark circles are inborn/genetic, caused by things like the skin there being thinner or deep set orbital bones. If you've had them since you were young, there's not much that skincare products can do to get rid of them. As @Leesy39 said, the most you can do for this sort of undereye circle is sleep, stay hydrated, and invest in a good concealer.

However, if your undereye circles are from recently appearing hyperpigmentation, there are eye creams with ingredients designed to inhibit melanin production in the skin, and thus fade hyperpigmentation spots faster.

Don't waste your money with these unless you're sure it's hyperpigmentation, though. And, be careful to use an eye cream specifically; these will be formulated so that they won't cause outright damage if you get them in your eyes.

I've tried sweet almond oil and it didn't work. I suffer from them too. Not sure if my case is hereditary because nothing worked. I've tried eye drops, massaging the area with almond oil, drinking water, getting rest and nothing. I would suggest seeing a dermatologist for this issue if other home remedies don't work.

RE: Best way to get rid of dark circles?

Honestly? Drink water. And sleep. I've tried far too many things over the years to combat dark circles...never works. Puffiness? No problem! Acne? Dry spots? Wrinkles? Oil? NO problem. But dark circles aren't typically a skin "condition" that you can combat...they're your bodies natural response to dehydration and/or exhaustion. Granted, this isn't ALWAYS the case. It can be a skin TYPE rather than condition. Mediterranean and West Asian hereditary traits typically include dark undereyes. If that's your problem and you want to get rid of them I can only suggest a good concealer.

i have read on pinterest that if you set wet tea bags under your eyes, it reduces the darkness. I am also a person with dark under eye circles and I use the tarts shape tape concealer to cover them up and it works amazing!!
