Best gel cleanser for sensitive acne prone combination skin that doesnโ€™t have AHAs or BHAs?

Been trying out which cleansers work for me the best recently

Youth to the people super food cleanser!

@ayeeeeesian,

I second the Sephora Collection gel cleanser! I found it was really gentle and it did  not dry out my skin.

@ayeeeeesian I really like Biossance Squalane + Tea Tree Cleansing Gel 5.07 oz/ 150 mL ! I got it in a gratis package for my also combo, acne prone skin and it is super refreshing and calming for my irritated skin! It helps my redness (just a little, but still) and smells super strongly of tea tree so if you aren't into that essential oil smell probably pass just FYI

Also just FYI it's a GWP with a $25 spend so you could try it out if you wanted to pick something else up ATM

@ayeeeeesian  I really like

SEPHORA COLLECTION - Clean Skin Gel - Cleanse + Tone

Re: Best gel cleanser for sensitive acne prone combination skin that doesnโ€™t have AHAs or BHAs?

@ayeeeeesian  I use Paulaโ€™s Choice cleansers on my mostly-dry combo skin. Not only do their cleansers seem to work best for me (no tight overly-dry feeling, bumpy and/or itchy bad reaction, or flaky scaly patches after washing), PC sells foil samples and travel sizes of many of their products so you can test them before committing to a full size. Iโ€™ll recommend two that Iโ€™ve tried (one of which I still use) and one that I havenโ€™t tried yet.

**Caveat: 2 of these contain lactic acid, which is an AHA thatโ€™s gentler than glycolic acid. They arenโ€™t marketed as AHA/exfoliating cleansers. Still, you might not wanna try them if youโ€™re trying to avoid all AHAs. Iโ€™ll flag those with a double asterisk.

CALM Redness Relief Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin - I havenโ€™t tried this yet but will order a sample soon. Itโ€™s formulated for sensitive skin and contains no sulfates. Thereโ€™s also a โ€œnormal to dry skinโ€ version of this one, but itโ€™s a lotion cleanserโ€”not what youโ€™re looking forโ€”and contains a sulfate. (Sulfates donโ€™t bother me but I feel obligated to mention it.) The 3 people I know who use this normal to oily skin version have favorably compared it to the next cleanser on my list.

**Hydralight One Step Face Cleanser - I use this one, usually in the morning and sometimes at night. (I alternate between Hydralight and a PC BHA cleanser at night.) Itโ€™s unscented and kinda low lathering, and it rinses cleanly without leaving my dry zones feeling stripped. Unfortunately this is one of the few PC products that has no sample or travel size for purchase.

**DEFENSE Hydrating Gel-to-Cream Cleanser - Iโ€™ve tried this one. It works fine but something about the texture or finish bothers me a bit, even on my dry zones. I feel this away about most cream/lotion textured cleansers: I never feel like theyโ€™re really cleaning my skin, and Iโ€™m sure thatโ€™s mostly a psychological thing. This one isnโ€™t a true cream cleanser. It starts as a gel and emulsifies to a kinda foamy cream... not really a mousse, but... I dunno how to describe it. ๐Ÿ˜„ It does leave my skin feeling soft, though.

None of these are gel formulated cleansers
