Best affordable redness reducing face cream?

30 years old and need some face skincare help! Mild redness, combination skin, fine line reducing would help too! Not looking for redness reducing makeup, face cream please! XX

Re: Best affordable redness reducing face cream?

Hi @kaylay05. I have some mild rosacea and pretty much nothing short of laser treatments is going to fix it. On a whim I tried a sample of Dr Jart Cicapair  tiger grass color correcting treatment and I’m really liking it! It does a very nice job toning down the redness, but it’s not a makeup cover up. It is a skin treatment and leaves my face feeling soft and smooth and not at all greasy or dry. Plus it’s easy to apply foundation on top of it! I would definitely recommend giving it a try. I’m going to purchase a larger container myself!

@jozkid I've seen this product and thought of trying it, glad to hear someone give it a recommendation! Definitely love that makeup can be applied over it, need skincare rather than a make up band aid!

Re: Best affordable redness reducing face cream?

You might want to look into:

Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Relief Cream

Hope it helps.

Re: Best affordable redness reducing face cream?

I've actually been using the Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Relief Cream for a couple weeks and have noticed some minor redness reduction. I have oily-to-combination skin and feel that it adds just enough moisture to my skin. I did try the matching cleanser, but it made my face extremely oily. I know that you're not looking for a cleanser. However, I figured it'd be worthwhile to give you a heads up about it anyway.

I'd also recommend looking into the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass products. I haven't tried this line, but I have heard good things about it.

Best of luck, @kaylay05!

Re: Best affordable redness reducing face cream?

I know you said cream, but I think you'll find more efficiency from serums and oils. I've found Vitamin E to be great at reducing sensitivity and redness and Argan oil is the most efficient way to get your skin to absorb the Vitamin E. You can get it for under $10/ounce if you get Accure brand from Target, Whole Foods or Amazon.

Others also swear by Vitamin C, and Drunk Elephants Serum is one of the best I've found and it's more cost effective because it only has to be applied every three days. You can get a sample from Sephora and see if it works for you.

thanks so much! Serums are new territory for sure, with so many products cross referencing multi targets it’s trial and error. Any personal preference from you ladies, cream, oil, serum, lotion? Every Sephora employee has recommended something different to try for one simple request! (Face palm to forehead)

Re: Best affordable redness reducing face cream?

I'd start by adding the Argan oil to your routine every morning and night for like a week to two--if your skin feels to oily or it seems like to much after that first week you can always cut back to once a day. Then once your skin has adjust to its new normal, have a good think about what you want to deal with next:

dryness--consider adding a hydrating Serum like the one from Drunk Elephant or PTR. If that seems like it just wouldn't be enough to handle super dry skin or wind chopping or something like that, add a super low ingredient moisturizing cream with no fragrance or essential oils--again Drunk Elephant has a good one, but it's worth asking for samples from  2 or 3 diff et formulas and trying each on half your face for 1-2 weeks and see how much difference it really makes.

Anti aging or skin damage--consider adding a regular product to promote skin cel, turn over plus something with Vitamin C in it. For example you could add something like PTRs pumpkin mask 1- 2 times a week to help expose new, undamaged skin; you could also do basically the same thing with a chemical exfoliant like Dr Dennis Gross' Alpha Beta daily peels (I use the super gentle version about twice a week myself). If you feel like you need to speed turn over add something with AHA & BHA, Drunk Elephant has 2 well rated options, but they might not work comfortably for you if your skin is super sensitive (they're the TLC night Serum and the stronger Suki Baby Facial).  In terms of Vitamin C serums, there I would def pick Drunk Elephant'sversins because it's among the top rated by editors and the Paula's Choice reviewer who is notoriously hard on "fancy" products--it's also about 1/2 the per ounce price of some other options on Sephora. HTH!

@kaylay05 It cosmetics has a whole Bye Bye Redness line. It has a cream as well as makeup. Maybe you should look that up and read into it! I love It Cosmetics. Their concealer is still one of my favorites!

Re: Best affordable redness reducing face cream?

I would look for products with Vitamin B to address the redness and Vitamin C for fine lines. My personal favorite is Aesop Lucent Facial Concentrate, which is a serum that I layer under a cream. I've heard good things about Drunk Elephant's products, if you are looking to stick with Sephora lines.

The sales associate told me about,  It Bye Bye Redness this past weekend.  It is in the skin care section, but has a tint for color correcting.

Keihls deeply corrective wrinkle cream! I got it for my mom for her birthday and she has used everything, but absolutely loves that cream and said her crows feet are starting to go away!
