Benzoic acid

Hi there, I recently started using a product that contains Benzoic Acid. I’m not sure if the reactions I’m having are normal or an allergic reaction. I feel super dry and my skin is really red when I use the product. I looked it up and it says those effects can happen for about a month after starting it but I’m not sure if I should continue as I’m unsure if the effects are normal and will subside or if I’m allergic and will get worse? Thank you, Christina

RE: Benzoic acid

If your skin is red, itchy, you have a burning sensation after or while using the product, it is irritating you skin. And if it’s making it very dry it can also be stripping your skin of its natural moisture and natural moisture barrier. If you’re answer if yes to most of this I HIGHLY recommend you stop using this product, but PLEASE DONT THROW IT AWAY. You should give it to someone else or donate it, it is a huge waste to simply throw it away. Hope this was helpful.
