Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

I have severe eczema, too the point of dermatologists diagnosising me with both eczema and psoriasis. I was wondering if there were any ladies out there that are dealing with the same issues as me (even partially) and what are your go-to products that help clear and hydrate the skin, but are non-steroidal. I'm looking for skincare, supplements, and make up products!

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

Last year I started dealing with small flare ups of eczema after spending several months in Northern Michigan. I got the flare ups around my nose and under my mouth. This might sound a little weird but I started using an Anti-Dandruff shampoo to exfoliate the spots (I used oribe's serene anti dandruff shampoo). I also started to use first aid beauty's hydration repair cream and it really helped. But one of my friends bought be the tatcha indigo cream around a week later and I have to say it worked amazing. They spots cleared up so quickly, and more importantly my skin felt better after just a few days of use. So I would really recommend an Anti-drandruff shampoo (But do your research because some of them are definitely way too harsh for facial use), and either the indigo cream from tatcha or the first aid beauty's hydration repair cream.

RE: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

I’ve got superrrr bad eczema, especially around my mouth and my eyes. I put on Origins Drink Up-Intensive Overnight Mask a little through out the day, but liberally at night before bed and it makes a WORLD of difference. Usually I have redness, irritations, scaliness, and itching then it turns into a big ol’ mess, but using this lotion really clears it up. To the point where I forget it’s even an issue.

That stuff is AMAZING! I absolutely love it ❤️

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

The Hemp Balm from The Body Shop worked miraculously on my psoriasis. Over forty years I had tried so many different products, most of them prescription, but the hemp balm blew everything else out the water. Wether or not it was the cause of my psoriasis going into complete remission Im not sure, but after using it for a year or two I am now free of any patches.

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

@jazminc95 I went to a highly recommended dermatologist and she told me to pick up two products from Amazon that are super cheap compared to a lot of products on the market for eczema/extreme dry skin. One is for my eyes (my eye area can get really bad and even look like it's been burned when I have an eczema flare up) and the other is for my face, but it can be used for the body. The moisturizer is called Vanicream and the ointment for my eyes is called Vaniply. I swear by this stuff and have even noticed an improvement in my overall look of my skin from an anti age standpoint as well (I've been using it for 3 months now). Skinfix and FAB did not work for me unfortunately as I needed something stronger. Both the Vanicream and Vaniply are free of dyes, fragrance, lanolin, parabens, and formaldehyde (that one is scary). The REN Evercalm overnight recovery balm is also nice REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Evercalm™ Overnight Recovery Balm

I hope this helps - good luck!

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

@niki172 my sister who is a doctor always stocks Vanicream products for me when i visit her!  so nice to her eczemous little sister, LOL!

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

@jazminc95 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️ I can definitely relate to this struggle! Winter was especially brutal for me. My Skin was truly saved by the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Cream Intense Hydration – Face and Body Moisturizer for Skin Repair 6 oz/ 170 g . I used it on my face and it was incredibly soothing and hydrating. The Herbivore Emerald Hemp Seed Deep Moisture Glow Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL helped me at night to help reduce redness and irritation. I’ve tested and picked up the Skinfix Eczema+ Dermatitis Face Balm 0.48 oz/ 13.5 mL and the SKINFIX - Eczema+ Extra Strength Body Creamto add to my routine to help me this winter. But I 1000000% recommend the FAB and Herbivore for sure because they’ve helped me survive the last two winters. The SkinFix is newer to my routine so I can’t speak on how well it’ll fare in the coldest months when my flare ups are their worst, but I’ve enjoyed using those products in warmer temperatures thus far

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

I second that Herbivore oil. It's the 2nd step in moisturizing my skin before putting on any makeup. That stuff is fantastic and I don't have a reaction (I have eczema as well).

I'm going to have to try that oil , for sure! I have a pretty hard time finding oils that get absorbed in the skin instead of sitting on top of it and clog pores. And that body cream is in my cart now! Thank you so much for your recommendations ♥️

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

@jazminc95 I've suffered from eczema my whole life and after trying a million different things, finally figured out that I should stay away from harsh skin care/cleansing ingredients (like sodium lauryl sulfates) and anything containing fragrance.  While I still do like to try different skincare products, I have a set of old tried-and-true products that I always revert to if my skin starts hurting or a flareup happens.  These are all totally fragrance free, do not contain harsh ingredients, and even have extras that are great for eczema such as ceramides and hyaluronic acid.

Oh my gosh, I have the same problem with sulfates and fragrances😳 its so irrie, especially since a lot of products include them! Thank you much for your recommendations, I can't wait to try these products! ❤️

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

@jazminc95 I don't have personal experience with it but I've heard good things about the Mustela Stelatopia line

Re: Any ladies suffering from eczema or psoriasis?

Yes. Mustela Stelatopia and Cetaphil Eczema Calming Wash are the most soothing body washes I've used! Cerave SA Cleanser & Mustela Gentle Cleansing Gel also work for me in more temperate weather. Whenever I venture out and try new washes, I always end up back at these!
