Bad reaction to vitamin c serums?

Is it just me or do vitamin c serums make your face burn? I just got the drunk elephant vitamin c firma and it instantly gave me a bad reaction! Iโ€™m now scared to try any other vitamin c serum because this is my first time trying one, has anyone else experienced something like this?

@gabrielareyes

Vitamin C makes me break out. I canโ€™t use it.

RE: Bad reaction to vitamin c serums?

Iโ€™m having the same reaction. I used a vitamin c serum my friend recommended me . And my face turned red in a sec.

Re: Bad reaction to vitamin c serums?

So, I haven't experienced a burning sensation with the C-Firma, but I've have a similar reaction to a product with a high L-Ascorbic Acid concentration. Ascorbic acid is the industry standard for an effective vitamin C, but it is a bit harsh. Your skin might be sensitive and ascorbic acid might be too strong.  I would recommend a vitamin C serum with a different ingredient like Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate. It is less effective than ascorbic acid, but more stable and gentle. I have better results with sodium ascorbyl phosphate. Currently, I use TruSkin Vitamin C.

Thank you this was super helpful Iโ€™ll definitely check it out!

@gabrielareyes I havenโ€™t experienced this and rotate between 4 vitamin c serums. Maybe you are allergic to the ingredients?
