PLAY! by SEPHORA has some exciting news to share with you. Starting in May 2016, we’re expanding PLAY! to the lower 48 states and giving our PLAY! boxes a makeover!
For those of you already on the waitlist as of April 8th, 2016, we will be sending out invitations in waves until all available spots are filled. Invitations will be sent based on when you joined the waitlist. Spots are still limited, so please act quickly if you receive an invitation. As a reminder, when you receive your invitation to join, be sure to enter the same email address used to join the waitlist. If you don’t receive an invitation this time around, or you joined the waitlist after April 8th – don’t worry! As more spots open up each month, we’ll continue to send out invitations on a rolling, first come, first served basis.
If you would like to join the waitlist, please enter your email by visiting www.sephora.com/play. You will be included in future months’ invitations.
A: The first wave of invitations for signup will be sent during mid-April 2016. They will continue to be sent out in monthly increments as the program grows.
A: PLAY! by SEPHORA is currently only available in the U.S. and can ship to any address in the contiguous 48 states.
A: Box quantities are limited each month. If you are invited to subscribe to PLAY! by SEPHORA, please redeem your invitation and claim your spot as soon as possible so that you don’t miss out on that month’s box.
A: PLAY! by SEPHORA is not currently available in Canada; however, we will keep you posted on any plans for expansion.
Q: I am a US resident and do not live in one of the contiguous 48 states. When will PLAY! be available to me?
A: We are currently exploring ways to expand our shipping capabilities to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US Military Bases. We'll be notifying clients as soon as we have an update and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

I tried signing up, after reading the comments about being put back on the wait list I'm not too hopeful. There's always Glossybox and Birchbox.
So invitations will be sent based on when you joined the wait list, so now all of us that you sent emails to saying we could subscribe for a box are all now back at the bottom of the list if we decide to go back in the list !! What the hell Sephora ?! You don't even have the decency to answer us. Disgusting customer service
So what's the point of being a VIB member ? I received an email saying I was off the wait list but when I went to subscribe all I got was notification saying I could go on a wait list. I see how much you value your customers Sephora 😒
When will Play! be available to me, I live in Mexico, in the Hidalgo state? thanks
Probably never. If you read through all the comments you will get a better understanding of whats going on.
I got an email saying im off the wait list and are unable to subscribe it keeps saying I will be added to the wait list,
So I receive an email that I'm off the wait list and that I can sign up, just to be directed to a page that says I am on the wait list again?? Come on now Sephora. Get your act together. 😞
Same here! What a bummer.
I thought maybe I was the only one experiencing this! Finally received my invite and can't sign up. As another long time Sephora shopper I feel very unappreciated
When did you receive your invitation? Earlier today? If so that's way f-ed up of Sephora.
Seems like this subscription type box was very disorganized.... also, its pretty terrible that they have not even addressed the issue yet.
Another one who received an invite & the timeframe hasn't expired but I'm not able to sign up. Seriously, Sephora.... It appears that waaaaayyyyyyyy more invites were sent out then there were spots available. I understand not everyone who received an invite will want or be able to respond at that time. But Sephora way miscalculated on the response to invite ratio. Sold out within an hour of sending the emails out, WOW!
I think that being a VIB and wait listed for the 2nd and 3rd time lets me know what a valued customer I am. Maybe I will have to start shopping at the individual sites of the vendors...smashbox, YSL, Besame, etc. ...Maybe...
I am a VIB and have been on the waiting list for months, just got my invite and I am not really sure what to do. It says there aren't any more spots.
Because there aren't. You got f-ed over. You can contact customer service for some points but otherwise they don't seem to be answering specif questions as to if this will happen again next month. Nor is the company actually admitting to doing anything wrong so far.
I know, I think it's pretty terrible. A lot of us are valued customers and spend a lot of money on their website. The fact that they have not had the decency to explain the issue to their customers is quite shocking to me...
I have the same issue as everyone else. What is even more frustrating..my friend who just got into makeup, and became a beauty insider a couple of months ago, received her first box this month. She received an invitation , and was never put on a waiting list!
But yet, I, along with a lot of other people are long standing customers who spend a lot of money at Sephora are going around in circles trying to get one!
So disappointing!
Although I am not adding much more to the conversation as I am just voicing the same frustrations as everyone else, but I think it is rather silly to send an email out letting people know they are off the waitlist and giving a time frame to sign up when the spots are just going to be filled within moments of the email arriving. I have been a loyal customer to Sephora over the years and this is truly disappointing. In the future, it would be best to at least preface that there are limited spots when the email arrives so you don't get our hopes up.
Right!!! I just joined Sephora a few months ago and I have spent quite a bit of money. I have been pleased with everything until this whole thing with the subscription boxes. The most frustrating part about it all is that they have not even addressed the issue and it's been almost a week.
Very disappointed Sephora. You shouldn't send an invite if you don't have enough spots. Not sure who made that decision from corporate, but that person didn't think this one through. With in the first hour of getting my email, I clicked on the link to sign up and all the spots were full. Did you guys only have a handful of spots available when the emails were sent out? I sent an email almost a week ago asking about this and I never heard back from anyone. I consider myself a pretty loyal customer to Sephora. The only thing you guys accomplished, is creating a lot of unsatisfied customers! I don't even see a rep from Sephora getting on this thread to explain everything and even trying to make things better. Very disappointed...
