Benefit is recalling the Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel that we received in the September Play Box. Should we be concerned if we used it? Is the mini that we received included in the recall?
I didn't know about the recall. I almost used it this weekend on my own brows and my mom's but used Goof Proof instead. Yikes!
As long as you are using it like it supposed to be used AKA for the brows. The problem was that someone used it on their lower lash/ waterline ( so user error). If you are using it on your brows your fine. There has been no claims that using is on your brows will harm you in anyway. I'm guessing they did this as a precaution against frivolous lawsuits. Remember this is ONE person allegedly claiming it caused some sort of eye infection. I saw a picture of the woman's eye and honestly, I'm no Dr.) But I didn't see anything!! No extra redness, nothing swollen she even pulled down on her eye so far you could see the entire under lower membrane. I tried so hard to try and find anything out of the normal but couldn't. So people are probably wondering why they would do such a big recall for only one claim. Well, it's cheaper, but the possible liability of people that will come out with false claims, there are always opportunist that ruins it for everyone. Please take this as only my opinion.
I was gifted the Benefit Gimme Brow at the end of July, and used it strictly on my eyebrows, yet developed MULTIPLE eye infections. I went to the eye doctor 7 times between August and October (when I ran out of the gel that I wore every day)....
When this recall was announced, I was so relieved that there was a root cause, as my eye doctor had been perplexed and thought I had developed an allergy to my contacts (which I have worn fine for 10+ years).

Does anybody know what would be a comprable shade to the medium Gimme Brow in Anastasia Brow gel and in the Clinique Just Browsing mousse? If anybody has used these products and knows what the right shade would be that would be great ...thank you. And if you have a strong opinion on which you like better let me know. Hope nobody has pink eye!!!
