My personal favourite for a long-lasting matte foundation is the TOO FACED - Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation – Peaches and Cream CollectionThey've improved on their shade selection since the foundation initially launched; if you aren't already using a matte primer, I'd recommend the NARS Pore & Shine Primer. It's very light, has a nice cream-consistency, but has worked the best for me and some of my oily friends for reducing oil production throughout the day.

You have beautiful skin!!! I have the same insecurities and working on trying to stop being so critical of myself. The last thing I’d ever notice about you was pores (I personally don’t see any! ) you are gorgeous!!! At the same time I relate though, and when people tell me “I’m imaging it” I get frustrated. I know my pores are dilated from picking when I was younger (and still now at times :/ )

I use a wet makeup sponge (no preference I think they are the same, just my opinion) and then ring it out, and use It cosmetics poreless setting powder. It works so well for me!! Make sure your moisturizing (I know I strip my skin because I’m obsessed with my oily skin, but it’s doing more harm!) also make sure to use a good primer but nothing too occlusive! I use mineral fusions oil free one for oily skin!

Hello @Nena2019!! Looks like you need a moisturizer that will balance your skin! I would give the Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer a try! It is a lightweight gel moisturizer that helps hydrate but also brighten and minimize the appearance the size of pores which will help reduce the amount of oil your skin creates. Your skin will maintain balanced and prepped for makeup application I would also grab a soft matte primer and apply it only in the areas where you produce the most oil. I personally like the primed and peachy cooling matte primer from toofaced or the fenty beauty soft matte primer- it’s a lightweight, soft creamy like primer that goes on like a moisturizer! And for your powder, the kat Von d powder has small crystal like reflexes in it to give the foundation a skin-like luminous finish. So I would instead give the Laura Mercier powder a try because it sets the make beautifully and gives it a soft matte finish! Also if you like to touch up like I do, I like to use the pressed powder from fenty beauty to touch up through the day because it’s lightweight and absorbs oil! I hope this helps you out and good luck

Hi @bebecss,   I agree with i've been obsessed with the TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer. A little goes a long way and truly blurs and also controls my oil. If you're looking for a matte primer I recommend the ERBORIAN - Extra Matte Ultra Mattifying Primer, it's such a pretty color and also helps my oil stay at bay throughout the day. My holy grail loose setting powder has quickly become the HOURGLASS - Veil™ Translucent Setting Powder, it helps my makeup stay in place all day and even hours later it still looks as nice as when I first applied my makeup.   -Helen

@stilettoqueen An acid toner is an absolute MUST in my routine. It exfoliates, clears pores, evens out skin tone and keeps my skin looking bright. I can’t recommend TARTE - Knockout Tingling Treatmentenough! It’s very affordable compared to a lot of other acid toners. I use P50 as well and Knockout gives me almost the same results at a fraction of the cost.

@dmf2777 Some things that really helped me get control of my oily/dehydrated skin involved incorporating Korean beauty skincare steps and products. I'm a big believer in the double cleanse- using an oil-based cleanser to take off sunscreen and makeup and following that with a gentle non-foaming cleanser to wash the skin. For this, I love Shiseido's Perfect Oil and then for the second cleanse either Philosophy Purity or First Aid Beauty Facial Cleanser.  Then adding several light, hydrating layers of toners, essences, serums, and masks to help with hydration. For this, I love Goodal's Waterest Lasting Water Oil and Erborian's Ginseng Milk as serums to layer before moisturizer. Also, a moisturizing oil added to your cream moisturizer might be a good idea. My favorite is Fresh's Seaberry.  Also consistent exfoliation. I love Sunday Riley's Good Genes, but sometimes my skin reacts better to a little physical exfoliation, like a light scrub. Products that contain salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and snail mucin have all been really beneficial for my acne issues. Clay-based masks are great for oil issues as well. I love Caudalie's Instant Detox and Pixi's Glow Mud Mask.  Ending my routine with a good moisturizer (and sunscreen in the mornings) helps to keep my skin hydrated, meaning less oil production. My favorite moisturizers are CosRx Oil-Free Moisturizing Lotion (in the a.m.), Belif Aqua (and Moisturizing in the winter) Bomb (in the p.m.), and Caudalie's Vinosource Sorbet Cream (also p.m.). Building that type of routine has really had a major impact on the quality of my skin over the last several years.

Too Faced Primed and Peachy is an awesome primer! I have oily skin and pores the size of Texas, so I have tried every primer in the world. I'm currently using Primed and Peachy, but just reached out to the Makeup Is Life group to see if there might be something better. I feel as though products work for me for a few months, then my skin somehow stops responding to it and I'm back as an oil slick ugh!  I have looked on the Sephora app and bought primers rated at 4 to 5 stars (e.g., the POREfessional, Dr. Brandt, Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For.... You name it. I haven't tried Tatcha and I'm also trying go get feedback on Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer. Fingers crossed I find something. I hope you do too!
