What foundation would you recommend?

I have SUPER oily and acne prone skin. And I also live in the south, and pretty much every foundation I used has literally melted off my face if I go outside. Does anyone have any recommendations? I current use MAKEUP BY MARIO SurrealSkin™ Luminous Hydrating Foundation 3W and it ends up irritating my skin and melting (I guess is how I would put it) off my face.

Dior Forever Matte Foundation!! Stays on all day!!👌Or Dior Back Stage Face and Body!! These 2 work very well on my oily skin!!

I’m going to try one of the Dior foundations. I have been eyeballing them for a while now. I have oily skin and big pores, I have tried so many different foundations and concealers, such as the infamous Este Lauder but it did not work for me. It sunk into my pores and wrinkles as well as separated around my nose & mouth area. I also recently tried one from Smashbox (I can’t remember the name) it went on so flawlessly I loved it but again it would separate around my mouth and nose and emphasize dry spots on my nose. So now I am used Makeup forever HD skin foundation and I do love somethings about it but it will not stick on my nose it’s so weird. I use primer’s and all that good stuff. I have tried switching it up. It actually does work better with the elf gripping primer the new one with niacinamide, but not so great with strivectins primer. So now I’m returning it and going to try something else. I have spent practically all weekend and week looking for a foundation, researching, watching video reviews, and I still have not found one I am sold on. I was looking mostly at the new ones that just launched. Youthforia, Mac, Polite Society, and REM. I couldn’t choose a shade from the swatches online so I may have to go to the store if I want to try those. So then I moved from those onto some oldie but goodies I have heard about such as NARS. So maybe I’ll go with the Dior since I have been wanting to try that for a while. Anyhow sorry for rambling, lol. All of your responses on this question have helped me. Thanks so much.

@Sam013 we are foundation twins! I use MAKEUP BY MARIO SurrealSkin™ Luminous Hydrating Foundation 3W as well. BUT I can't wear this during the summer or even spring because this foundation is glowy and doesn't do well in the heat. I swear by Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place 24-Hour Longwear Foundation 1W2 Sand and so does my friend who is super oily. This foundation is tried and true, oldie but a goodie. I've worn this to florida in the summer and it still looked FLAWLESS. I've heard it's not great for sensitive skin but I would highly recommend to try and return if you get any irritation!

Estee lauder double wear is my holy grail. I am 30 yrs old, have tried so many foundations, have cystic hormonal acne during my time of the month and occasionally have acne during the rest of my cycle. I’ve had awful acne since I’ve been 13 and have some scarring on my face. In addition, I have sensitive skin, redness, and large pores. EL double wear is the only foundation I’ve used that covers my skin concerns, has full enough coverage to mask the redness/acne and actually stays on all day (with proper skincare and setting techniques). Like you said, oldie but a goodie. I haven’t found a foundation that competes with EL double wear.

Hi @Sam013 - I saw nobody else had answered this, so I thought I'd take a swing at it. I should mention that while I get T-zone oil and the occasional blemish, my skin is not acne-prone nor excessively oily.

I tried wearing powder foundation instead of liquid some years back, when my skin was oilier than it is now, especially in warm weather. Now I love it, because it's easier to apply, easier to touch up, and helps camouflage any break-through oil up to a point. If your skin would tolerate powder foundation, that might be a better solution for you. You could ask folks in the Acne-Prone Skin group if they have any powder foundations they would recommend.
