Powder before foundation?

So popular youtuber Jackie Aina puts setting powder on before putting on her foundation and she swears that it helps keeps her skin from getting too oily. Has anyone else tried this trick?

This is a trick I've tried and seen as well. It initially helps, but I promise your foundation will hate you after a few hours. Beware!
