Make up separates when retouching

I’ve been using my fav foundation, Laura mercier for a while now. However recently, I’ve been getting really oily and I’ve assumed it’s becos of summer. While retouching, my make up tends to separate which has never happened before. Is it the brush I am using? I’m so confused as to what it is.

any good powder brushes suggestions?

And why is this happening. Any advise would be appreciated 🙂

Re: Make up separates when retouching

@ziziE  Are you getting line marks on your face while retouching with a brush? If so, that's your culprit. I used to retouch with powder and a brush but had the same issue and I have since switched over to using only sponges to retouch/blot my face. If I want to soak up some excess oil, I use the sponge provided in my blotting powder or dab some translucent powder on aBeautyblender ORIGINAL Beautyblender Makeup Sponge Originaland I don't find my foundation rubs off this way.

I have been using a powder brush , yes. I will try the sponge to see if it works better. Thank you so much
