BEST FOUNDATION??

I am pretty new to foundation and am looking for foundation under $60 for OILY SKIN. One that DOES NOT oxidize.. Open to all types of formulas!

Thank you 🙂

Re: BEST FOUNDATION??

Right now I am using Fenty & I absolutely love it!  First, there are so many shades so finding ur perfect match is a definite!  U only need a small amount and it covers everything. I always prep my skin...the right cleanser, serum, moisturizer is key for any skin type. I also use a good primer....Urban Decay, Makeup Forever, Dr. Brandt are all good.  I prefer to use a beauty blender or sponge when applying...for me brushes are too streaky (I do recommend Kat Von D concealer brush though to get in small areas).  So Fenty is definitely a great foundation.  I also love Tarte Amazonian Clay...it's really smooth & build able.  There is just something about it that I always come back to.  Again, many shades & has a nice, even finish.  Not oily or drying. Makeup Forever is also a good foundation. It is a different consistency...a little more thin, so I tend to use more. But its buildable & also has great shades. I usually use a setting powder with this foundation (well I do with most anyway) just because it's not as matte.

My suggestion is go to Sephora & get ur color IQ & get as many samples as you can. Then u can try each for a couple of days & see which is best for you

Re: BEST FOUNDATION??

I love Estee Lauder's Double Wear and Bobbi Brown's Longwear Foundation. I wear the Double Wear in the evening or for pictures because for me it's a fuller coverage than the Bobbi Brown foundation. I like the Bobbi Brown foundation for everyday. For my days off or when I go hiking I wear Bobbi Brown's BB Cream. Very lightweight and it comes in a good variety of colors. If you're new to makeup that's a good start. I always use my Image Skincare SPF 32 Matte Moisturizer (I get this from my esthitician, or you can order from their website). It's sunscreen, oil-free moisturizer and primer in one. The pores on my nose are huge so I do use Smashbox's Pore Minimizer Primer on my nose and around it before foundation. I always set with a loose powder. Also, look at your skincare and make sure you're using the right products for your skin. Also, and I know you've heard this, drink plenty of water. That balances out your body's system and you're less oily because your skin is getting the hydration it needs. Also less breakouts.

RE: BEST FOUNDATION??

I have extremely oily skin, within a few hours my entire face needs to be blotted. I love Lancôme’s Teint Idole foundation, it’s my holy grail & I don’t have to blot as often. I loved the coverage on Estée Lauder Double Wear but for some reason that foundation breaks me out, I’ve tried making it work a few times & every time I broke out badly. Other people with oily skin swear by it though.

Re: BEST FOUNDATION??

@jiayaah I have extremely oily skin, and personally i think super matte foundations make things worse. To me, the prep and set matters just as much as the foundation, longevity wise. Instead i opt for a mattifying primer and setting spray. My holy grail cocktail at the moment is: Prime with Tacha silk canvas all over, then Becca ever matte in the t-zone, Hourglass vanish blended with a brush, Too Faced complete cover concealer, Huda baking powder, Cover FX matte setting spray (green bottle).

Even though Hourglass is not necessarily great for oily skin, I can wear this all day(10+ Hours) in Tennessee summer heat and humidity, and still look fab at the end of the day, even after a work out. Also it never oxidizes. If you don't find your perfect cocktail at first just keep going! Get samples, play around with it until you find what works for you.

Re: BEST FOUNDATION??

I heard about the hourglass one being amazing! but I just wasn't sure if it would work with my oily skin so I was scared to try it. But I will definitely give it a try! thanks!!

Re: BEST FOUNDATION??

@jiayaah As long as i use the Cover FX spray it is sooo long wearing, but if i don't, it breaks down within 4-5 hours. Really give that spray a try it was a game changer for me! Have been using for over a year now! (since it came out)

Re: BEST FOUNDATION??

@jiayaah I haven’t tried it personally, but people love Estée Lauder Double Wear. I have used Lancôme Teint Idole Long Wear and it’s nice. Both have huge shade ranges so if you’re worried about oxidation you should be able to find something cool enough so it won’t turn orange, but both do well with oily skin and have a powdery matte finish so it shouldn’t be an issue.
