limited edition

So I know theres lots of limited edition makeup out there it seems but does anyone keep the packaging to limited edition items as a collector's piece or does anyone really use it as actual makeup. I have been keeping all of my limited edition makeup in the original packaging and using it rarely but sometimes I feel its more of a struggle than cool to have. oh and does anyone have a limited edition collection as I'm super curious to find out if anyone is interested in limited edition collections as I never see anybody talk about them

Re: limited edition

@diamondlove  I like buying limited edition products because if a friend buys me a product that's a regular item at Sephora (which they usually do), there's a higher chance that I won't have that item. I can't say there's a limited edition product that I can't live without. I usually get KVD's LE eyeshadow palettes and I used to keep all my products in their packaging, but my friend made me realize that they were taking too much space and that I really need to de-clutter! So I did and am pretty glad about that because my desk looks a lot tidier now

I actually avoid buying limited edition items because I wouldn't be able to repurchase it in the future, haha.

I keep all the unique packaging, but I use the items. I have hoarding tendencies, so I try not to buy anything just to collect it. I'm actually working on a collage art piece using the packages. I call it my Vanity Project.

Re: limited edition

@diamondlove I keep most all of my beauty items in their original packaging when I use them.  I only throw them out when they become beat up.  I can't think of a LE I bought that I can't live without, though.  I did buy Too Faced Natural Eyes when it was a LE and liked it so much I bought a second.  But we all know it got so popular that it has become part of a regular line-up.  I saw that the palettes were re-packaged and marked as "new" at Sephora.  It looked like only one shade was changed to me, but I only really use five of the colors.

Re: limited edition

@diamondlove I don't keep limited edition packaging when I buy but I also live in an apartment and there's just no way for me to store the boxes in addition to the makeup. I'm mostly a I won't buy it unless i'm going to use it kind of person but the one I did get really caught up in and won't use is the Year of the Dog highlighter from Chantecaille. It's just so pretty I can't ruin the image.

I always use my limited edition lippies but I'm afraid to like take them anywhere so I don't carry them around for touch ups which is kinda crazy but whateves haha

I do collect some stuff - like the Charlotte Tilbury 5 minute face palettes but I use them.

Re: limited edition

@diamondlove I’m the same way. I buy LE items and keep them in the original packaging too! I go as far as to buy 2 of each. One to use and one to keep. I purchased the entire MoschinoXSephora line and it’s still in their boxes. I have yet to put them up for display. My hubby thinks it’s a waste, and it is. But I can sit and stare at my collection for hours! Organizing and re-arranging my product is like therapy. I switch out what I use all the time. The only brand I’m a die-hard collector for is Natasha Denona. I own almost everything she makes...especially her eyeshadow palettes. I’m currently starting my Tom Ford Collection. That will take me a long time to build since there is so much and it’s not cheap. We all have our addictions. Makeup and skincare just happen to be mine!
