Why are products more expensive on Sephora than the brands' own websites?

As the title says. I was going to purchase Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow talk quad and it's 70 dollars on Sephora, but only 66 on her own website. 

I also remember some other products have the same issue but can't recall which ones exactly. 

Does Sephora bump up the prices??

Yes Sephora's online price is higher. It's strangely marked at lower price in stores (make sure it scans that way though!)

Or just buy on the CT site or on the Holt Renfrew site. You can even call your closest Nordstrom to get it shipped for free. They are all charging the lower price. I bought it at Nordstrom as I collect points there and I'm not impressed with Sephora's pricing strategy.

It’s how business works. There are so many variables to consider.

If Sephora didn't make any profit then the store wouldn't exist. People send their products to the store because their name can generate more revenue AND bring them more customers to keep their company afloat. Basically they are paying to be recognized by beauty professionals and to be sold to customers who know that Sephora is REPUTABLE.
