hey everyone, tell me about your every day routine, what you put on, how long it takes, and the tones you like. For me, every morning I put on sunblock and on the occasional day, moisturizer. I then apply a bit of blush on my cheeks and nose, with some lip liner towards the inside rim of my lips for the subtle ombre look and some gloss on top. I curl my lashes and BAM i'm done, only took me 5 minutes and it suits me well. Share some looks with me if you have the time!! KAJA - Cheeky Stamp Blendable Blush - 04 Feisty
I don't wear makeup every day, but it's my go to! I wear Tarte shape tape concealer under my eyes & on my eyelids, MarcJacob gel highliner eyeliner to tightline & then smudge it out a little, a color of shimmer from my MAC quad custom eyeshadow palette, eyelashes or mascara, and some ABH lip gloss.
Re: What is your every-day minimalist makeup routine?
Hi @toxicdiamonds ! The only makeup I must wear daily—as in, won’t leave the house without unless there’s a fire or I’m being chased by a vampire horde—is brow pencil and lipstick. But my typical minimal routine changes, depending on my mood.
My entire current morning skincare routine: 5-7 minutes
Brows: Kimiko Super Fine Eyebrow Pencil; sometimes I also use MAC Shape + Shade Brow Tint (just the brush end, not the powder end) to detail my sparse brow tails.
Lipstick: I have over 200 to choose from. Lipstick is the makeup item I’m most passionate about. 😄

Often plus these things: up to an additional 5 minutes
Powder to set concealer: By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder
Sometimes I’ll also add a powder highlighter to my tear troughs, or I’ll use a cream highlighter instead of concealer. I usually use NARS - Highlighting Powder, the shade Ambition from NARS NARSissist Wanted 2 blush palette, or PAT McGRATH LABS Skin Fetish Highlighter & Balm Duo Bronze for this. Sometimes an Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Finishing Powder Dim Light can work for this. I’m going to try RMS BEAUTY - Luminizer X Quad Highlighter Palette for this soon.
Blush: usually a NARS - Blush, something from the NARSissist Wanted 2 palette, a Glossier Cloud Paint, or NATASHA DENONA - Bloom Blush & Glow Palette. But I have several other blushes (from various brands) to choose from.
Oily zone matte primer: I use LANCôME - Blur & Go Stick just on and around my nose. Sometimes I also set it with translucent Beauty Bakerie Flour setting powder.
Undereye primer: SMASHBOX - Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer Concealer, just in my hollow tear troughs: either BECCA - Ultimate Coverage Longwear Concealer or NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer Powder to set concealer: By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder Sometimes I’ll also add a powder highlighter to my tear troughs, or I’ll use a cream highlighter instead of concealer. Occasionally with some or all of these things: up to an additional 5-10 minutes
Eyeshadow sticks: BOBBI BROWN - Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick and SEPHORA COLLECTION - Colorful Shadow & Liner are my favorites. I pick one, pop it on my lid, and usually blend it out with a finger. I always travel with one or two shadow sticks.
Dark eyeshadow to smoke the outer corner: my favorite for this is the Pat McGrath Dark Matter Pigment that comes with the Dark Star 006 eye kits. It’s very easy to sheer out, and can be built up to an opaque black.
Tinted moisturizer: I might use it more often now that my forehead’s so blotchy (as my large hyperpigmentation bands and patches are lightening up, thanks to retinol + vitamin C + AHA). It’s just sheer coverage to blur the lines between my different skin tones. I still have half a tube of my old favorite Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Perfector, but I’m liking LAURA MERCIER - Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF 30 and LAURA MERCIER - Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - Oil Free a lot lately.
Powder foundation: sometimes I do this instead of tinted moisturizer. I usually use a By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Compact for this.
Mascara: if my eyes aren’t being itchy watery jerks, I’ll sometimes wear ILIA - Limitless Lash Mascara or Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2 Mascara Black Vinyl Vol 2. I wish I could curl my lashes instead of using mascara but honestly, I hate lash curlers. Plus, I feel my lashes aren’t long enough on their own (even when curled) for the minimal look I want. The ILIA mascara gives me just the right natural looking boost. The CT LLv2 mascara gives me perfectly (for me) luscious side-swept lashes.
Eyeliner: I do a full or partial bottom liner, a wing of some sort (either from the bottom or top), and/or an inner corner punch of color. I most often use Glossier Colorslide eyeliners, MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Color Pencil: Eye, Lip & Brow Pencil, MAKE UP FOR EVER - Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner, or MAC eyeliners. I’m also a big fan of Inglot AMC gel pot liners and BOBBI BROWN - Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, and TARTE - Clay Pot Waterproof Liner works well for me. my every day minimal makeup routine is: morning skincare, SPF, maybelline fit me concealer taped under my eyes, and around my jaw line, Bite multistick in Cashew as a cream blush, Milk lit cream highlight, Essence make me brow gel, essence lash princess mascara, and fenty gloss bomb!! 🥰
RE: What is your every-day minimalist makeup routine?
I start off with a swipe of Thayer’s rose toner, use Supergoop Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40, followed by bareMinerals COMPLEXION RESCUE™ Hydrating Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Stick. For work days, I use Stilla Stay All Day eyeliner and Glossier’s bomb.com for my lips. If I’m going out, I usually dab on some MILK lip and cheek perk as a blush, and use a Kat Von D. Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. If it’s a work day, I get ready in less than 5, if I’m adding the extras, no longer than 10 minutes. (For some reason, I can’t link products, sorry!)
I haven't tried the Kaja Cheeky Stamp blushes yet, but they look so cute and perfect for a quick makeup look. 🙂 My minimalist makeup routine consists of SUPERGOOP! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40, BAREMINERALS - COMPLEXION RESCUE™ Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30, a tinted brow gel like ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS - DIPBROW® Gel and a tinted lip balm like DIOR - Dior Lip Glow. I will skip mascara but will never leave the house without curling my lashes. I always feel like curling my lashes makes me look so much more awake, and really pulls my minimal makeup look together.
