alright, here it is. use this thread to request swatches. the guidelines are up to you and your needs: single swatches, comparison swatches, specific skin tone swatches
when comparisons are requested, feel free to provide whatever you have of that request--i want anyone to participate and contribute if they want to. have fun, hope this is helpful !
yup i think you're safe with those two. i found bare with me and cork to not go on fully opaque from the 5 i own. But i guess since bare is so light it requires more layering than cork.
I can do this for you later tonight when I get home from work if that's ok!
The formula of DOC is really great. Very smooth and lightweight in my opinion but not moussey. I would say less drying than other liquid lipsticks I have tried but they still emphasize the lines in my lips. Every one I've tried does that (except Posie K from Kylie for some reason!) It's not bad though unless you're examining my lips up close so I don't care at all.
I will say DOC has the best packaging and applicator for sure. It like hugs your lips perfectly and makes it so easy to apply!
I'll post the swatches for you ASAP!
Thanks @starrysilver! KVD and Stila are my favourite brand of liquid lipsticks, but I've got all the colours I want from them, so I'm looking to expand!
Do you have the "new" batch of Kylie's lipsticks after reformulation? I just got Candy K, and I don't like it! It's too dry and the colour is different. DOC Truffle is the closest colour dupe, so that's why I'm interested!
The first picture is Bare With Me, Stone, Truffle from top to bottom. I wish I could get Bare With Me to work on me but I don't know..I can't get it to look right. Truffle is really pretty and Stone is my favorite! I also included the second picture with Kylie's Posie K on the left and Candy K on the right ( or top? depending on how this pic is showing up for you!) I never realized how spot on Candy and Truffle are! You're right!
I will say that I have Candy K from the first formulation so I don't know how much the color is changed? But what I have looks the same as Truffle to me.
I hope these pics are ok!
@starrysilver These pictures are pefect, thank you! I'm definitely going to get Stone and Truffle, they look promising!
The new Candy K is more of those generic mauve-pinks but lighter. It looks nothing like the warm nude it was.
I am interested in Too Faced Born this Way foundation. I think I tried a sample and was Vanilla. Here are my current foundations.
UD liquid makeup 3.5 (now too dark)
UD liquid makeup in 2.5 - new shade
GA Luminous Silk 4.75
EL Double Wear 1W1 Bone (bit too light)
Bourjois Vanilla
@SydBristow We're really close in shade! I don't have any of those foundations, but from what I've swatched and seen online we're close.
I've tried Vanilla and one shade up, Nude. They're pretty close in tone, the only difference is that Nude is a smidge darker with a neutral to cool undertone. The entire line runs warm, but Nude would be considered neutral/cool and Vanilla warm. I wear Vanilla because Nude isn't warm enough for me.
If you can get samples of Vanilla and Nude, I definitely recommend it. I'm not sure what undertone you are or how it'll set onto your skin.
Here are some comparisons
Hope this helps! I'm sorry I couldn't do a direct comparison with the foundations you have. Born this Way is my HG foundation so I don't experiment much.
Thanks very much, @Melissa136! It is sincerely appreciated!
This is making me think for sure it was Vanilla that I tried. 😄
We're skin tone twins!
Really @StephaniLynn? Do you have some of the same foundations? Any others that are similar that you can recommend? I LOVE the GA, it's is really natural looking. So far I am not thrilled with the UD 2.5, it kind of just makes me look pale, with no glow. I will experiment with mixing some luminizer in with it to see if that helps.
What pump are you using for the EL? Is it the Nars pump?
@weeeeweeeeeee it's the MAC pump, sorry I missed your question! It's a perfect fit!
Oooooooo thank you!! I need to try that pump
I just popped in Sephora to play with whatever Amuse Bouches they had. I didn't buy anything, but I thought these looked pretty, and the saturation is great for one swipe.
From top:
Nori
Persimmon
Gazpacho
Beetroot
oooh, Nori looks really interesting....
The swatches we have seen look just like LLLR '008' - just a heads up.
I don't know... But my store has the Amuse Bouche out now so I can go make that comparison this week.
Persimmon is so pretty 😍
