Sephora just stopped doing any samples on orders? Not even an option to get them anymore?

So I placed an order today ($26) and in my cart, there was no way to select samples - only enter in a promo code. Sephora went from 3 samples to 2 samples to now...no samples?

Starting to weird me out now with what everyone’s reporting. Maybe they’re trying to encourage people to use the app more?

@yuline  I saw a mod post in customer service that it was just temporary.

@jennydreadful  On desktop on the top left, an option will pop up (it switches to free shipping over $50) click on it, it'll bring you straight to sample selection

OR using the search bar, search the word promotions, it'll bring you to this page, and you can see "pick your free samples" on the left

@jennydreadful I am located in the US and placed an order yesterday through my phone’s internet and had no trouble selecting samples. I tested the app just now and it is allowing me to select samples if I start to place another order. It probably is a temporary glitch or internet issue. You may wish to refresh the page or log out and log in to see if the problem goes away. Sometimes that has worked for me.

@yuline  @jennydreadful  I’m also in the US and saw no option to add samples to last night’s order anywhere in Sephora’s buy flow (cart page and all following pages). I used my iPad and iOS Safari. I see now that sample selection is on a completely different page that seems to be outside the buy flow. 😡 

 

I also used my last $100 Rouge Reward last night, so I’m not too annoyed about missing out on samples. But from a UX design perspective, this makes no sense. I hope it’s a temporary glitch. 

 

I never use the Sephora app because I hate its navigation and the way it handles BIC. I had to delete the app from my tablet and phone this year: nearly all Sephora main and BIC links via mobile browsers (Safari, Chrome, and Firefox) either popped the app or errored out trying to pop it. Deleting the app fixed most of my Sephora/BIC nav problems, so I won’t reinstall it.

100% Absolutely!

The mobile app was a glitchy nightmare for me, and finally I just uninstalled it.

I'm specifically using Desktop, not mobile. (The mobile app has always been glitchy for my iOS)


I can replicate on Desktop when I tried it again.

I have iOS too and the app is glitchy but I’ve had no problems with ordering when using the app. I actually prefer navigating products via the app because it’s so much faster.  What I do is save all my items and samples in the basket in the app. I then log into my account on my phone’s net because I have a rakuten account and I finish up ordering the saved order through the net. I do remember that I did not have problems adding samples via the net yesterday instead of app.
