Hey everyone! 👋🏽. Ever had a beauty self-actualizing moment? (No? Just me...ok...) I wanted to know...conveniently before sale time... What are those products that come through for you when someone goes away?? They can be a new love, HG or replen.
For me this morning it was DIOR Rouge Dior Contour No-Transfer Lip Liner Pencil in Wild Brown. Any "concealer lip" situation, she can fix! And Ceremonia Hair Oil Mist con Aloe Vera 2 oz / 60 mL is in my cart, that is a must for me any time I need a little moisture or shine for my tresses.
Other come throughs:
DIOR La Mousse OFF/ON Foaming Face Cleanser 5 oz / 150 mLbecause it's a cleaner and makeup remover. It can also foam up and it doesn't dry out my skin.
Danessa Myricks Beauty Linework Paintbrush Fluid Liquid Eyeliner 0.034 oz / 1 ml A must for my eyeshape and I love a brush tip liner
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder Flushed - Matte Color for Cheek & Lip Creme Bruelee This is a recent love, it's a lip color, a blush, a bronzer
Maison Margiela 'REPLICA' Jazz Club Eau de Toilette with Tobacco Leaf, Pink Pepper, and Rum (this pairs with a few scents, I feel like it's the rum + pepper combo that does it, because it can go with earthy, floral, gourmand and not be too much. It's also my "patchouli fixer")
Give me 6! (That's the game, but we can be creative) Of these products. Definitely ❌ Post to threads like 🥇🏆🥈🥉🏅 THE HOLY GRAIL THREAD , Sephora Savings Event 2025 Shopping Advice Thread: What’s in Your Basket? Monthly Favorites: March 2025 Edition!
@faeriegirl great choices! I really want to try both of those DDG products, they have been on my loves list for a while. I have some samples of the peel pads that I need to dig out and try one of these days!
I honestly thought coming up with this six was gonna be a lot harder than expected but all my "clenches" fits perfectly! (@danielledanielle is a sorcerer and chose the magic number or...)
@jaaayp dirty hair girly here lol I can totally relate. Have you tried Drybar Detox Clear Invisible Dry Shampoo 3.5 oz/ 100 g ? I would say that one was most comparable (to me) to the LP one you love.
@jaaayp I'm also a part of the the "go as long as you possibly can without washing" club. Mine doesn't get crazy oily but my current dry shampoo isn't doing it for me so I might need to pick this one up.
ah YAAAS GIRL @makeitup305 join the clubbbb - which one are you using? I think the Amika one is pretty popular and it works well, I just can't stand the smell.. I've recently tried the dae Fairy Duster Volumizing Dry Shampoo Powder 1 oz / 30 g and this.... does not do it for me. It does work OK on DAY ONE keeping my oils at bay and day 2, can't even try using it because it does nothing for me at this point LOL
@jaaayp I just ordered the jumbo from Costco for $25, a steal!
@jaaayp I usually just use batiste, which is decent. I tried one from Onove called No Wash which is a liquid gel. That one is more like a refresher, which I like, but won’t do much for super oily or dirty hair. I also tried the non-aerosol dry shampoo from Odele but it leaves my hair a little stickier than I would like.
Honestly @danielledanielle I think you did... I think I've literally been transitioning to Dior (foundation, bronzer, lip, etc.) since you put the overcurl on my radar and now my wallet hates you for it... LOL 😘
These beauties helped me fight back against a heavy bout of seasonal spring allergies 🤧 that irritated my eyes and left my face, especially the sides of my nose, raw, red and dry.
Honorable Mentions:
- multiple boxes of tissue
@itsfi this is a great list of products! I feel like I have been having more trouble with redness lately, so I am definitely taking notes! Some of these I already was aware of thanks to you, and some are new to me. I'm sorry to hear about your allergy troubles, I hope things improve for you ASAP! 🤗
I'm so sorry you're experiencing more redness of late @caitbird; 'tis the season, it seems. 😣 Whenever my skin gets tempermental, I go back to basics when it comes to my skin care. I usually try to get to the bare minimum amount of products while still giving my skin what it needs. And then build from there once my skin is close to being fully healed. It's usually 2 or 3 items, though sometimes I might add a serum or a post-moisturizer product of some sort to my evening routine to give me an extra boost.
Thank you so much for your well wishes. This has been a much better week all around - at one point earlier, I think I caught a cold along with my allergies - ouch! But, better now. I have a slight cough that creeps up if I've been outdoors for a while but it can usually be remedied with making sure to be hydrated and do some steam inhalation when I get back home.
It's supposedly Spring, but it was 33 degrees this morning for me. I get vasomotor rhinitis nearly every dramatic change (like 20-30 degree weather changes). With all these weather changes, seasonal allergies are starting earlier and lasting longer @itsfi , this list is a must for that
omg, 33 degrees? I'm cold for you @danielledanielle - no, seriously, I pondered whether to retrieve my electric blanket ... or just take my laptop with me. 😅
Yesssssss!!!! You get it. Come "spring," I can generally expect two things to happen - (1) my face starts feeling veeeery sensitive to the sun - because I've typically not seen much of it, but this year has been better because I've been doing more walks outdoors leading to the official start of spring and (2) there's at least a few days where seasonal allergies hit me like a ton of bricks. This year has been the worst since I've been in the Bay Area, that I recall, at aleast - and, ohhhh yeaaah, it definitely started earlier and is lasting longer this go around - I was expecting something like this (though less intense) later this month. Ugh. I shall be pulling the different allergy meds closer to the front of my drawer now, and checking the pollen count as part of my morning routine. 🙄 I also need to make sure to up my water intake every day.
I'll post another one of these allergy-related clenchers involving a mist, maybe 2, another time.
@danielledanielle Thank for the tag. Sorry to be so slow, but BIC has been acting up for me and I've been having trouble posting.
One product that I can depend on is Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows Tinted Eyebrow Gel . My brows are rather sparse, and the brush on this is thin enough for targeted application. Or, if my brows look unnatural from pencil, a coat of this can fix them up.
I've not been using this long, but I've been impressed lately with Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Lift & Flex Hydrating Concealer With Hyaluronic Acid & Caffeine 5 My eyes often look tired due to lack of sleep, and this does a decent job covering dark circles without creasing. It's hydrating and low-maintenance, which I like.
HUDA BEAUTY Easy Bake Blurring Loose Baking & Setting Powder Cherry Blossom This does a great job brightening up my under eye circles. If I'm tired or looking tired, this is always a go-to product.
When my hair is looking blah, it usually improves somewhat if I throw on some texturizing spray. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray 8.5 oz/ 300mL or Davines This is a Dry Texturizing Finishing Spray 8.45 oz / 250 ml
If my skin is looking dull, I perceive an improvement when I slap on some highlighter. HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Bio-Radiant Glassy Balm Highlighter Stick has been doing the trick lately.
If my skin is looking flaky or dull, I love to refresh it in the mornings with Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel Pads
@PrettyPaint great list! Some of these are definitely on my list to try, like the Huda Beauty setting powder and the DDG pads. I know I have some samples of the pads somewhere, so I will have to dig them out to give them a try - I feel like my skin could definitely use them these days!
@caitbird I hope you can find your sample! They are really great!
@PrettyPaint, sorry to hear about your board troubles. It's been a trial, for sure, so thanks for replying with all the issues.
The DDGs pads are def HG, I feel like that's another fixer for me, too
@danielledanielle Yep, once I tried the DDG pads, they are a product I will probably always purchase! 🙂
