Black Friday vs. November 20% off vs. January sale

In your opinion, what sale do you think is better? I have made my list for the November sale but I'm wondering if I'll save more money waiting for Black Friday. Is it smarter to wait until January when all the holiday sets go on sale vs. buying them during the November sales? I'm really torn, lol. My list is $500 worth of makeup. Should I buy what I want most during the 20% off sale and then maybe score a deal on black friday? Then if the other holiday items I want (but could live without) are still in stock I would buy them in January. Is that a smart plan? I want to save as much money as possible but also have no regrets in not buying something during the November sale... Any help is appreciated!

RE: Black Friday vs. November 20% off vs. January sale

For makeup I do a series on my Little YouTube for my friends called ‘Pimp Sephora and Ulta for Beauty’ Any way this is one of my big topics how to work the sales to get everything you want on a budget. For the next sale you want pick up any Natasha Denona, Pat McGrath, Hourglass, or Guerlain Palettes on your list. Get bite, or Stila lipsets. Any $25 lipsets are going to sell out. Go to your store when it opens and buy them in person. All the other brands have better Black Friday sales Too faced planner will probably sell out and may not be available on their Black Friday sale, but everything else will be cheaper Black Friday Hope that helps

Thank you! What would you recommend for the tarte treasure box collectors set? It's been on my wish list since the first day I saw it. Would you recommend buying during the 20% off sale? I'm also wanting the smashbox drawn in decked out shadow + highlighting pallet set.

Re: Black Friday vs. November 20% off vs. January sale

Personally I buy as much as I can during the fall sale and consider anything I may be able to pick up later a bonus. I've never really been that impressed with Sephora's Black Friday sale items as it's really only a handful of mini-sets. So it's hard to plan for what you may want to purchase for that since we don't know what will be included yet. As far waiting for items to be further discounted in the new year... if it's something limited edition or holiday specific, it often sells out before the holidays so I don't like to take chances on those special sets. Certain things like Philosophy body wash are almost always around after the holidays and can be picked up for a good price, so that kind of stuff I do wait for.

Re: Black Friday vs. November 20% off vs. January sale

I agree -if holiday items are not already sold out there is no guarantee anything will actually go on sale after the holidays - plenty of luxury holiday palettes like the hourglass one never went on sale even though it did not sell out during the holidays so the November sale is probably your best chance to get something discounted. And agree about black friday too - there is no way to know right now what value sets will be on sale and I didn't find the discounts to be significantly different than 20% off anyways.

Thank you! :)

Thank you! 🙂

RE: Black Friday vs. November 20% off vs. January sale

My approach has been to not take chances with the ultra-popular items that I really want and may not get restocked in the future. For example, I’ve already bought the two Natasha Denona holiday palettes because I’m pretty sure that when the gates open for the Rouge 20% off group on Friday, those will probably be gone in the blink of an eye, and I’m not sure they will be restocked once they’re gone since they’re a holiday edition. Other items, like Urban Decay eyeliners are going on my sale/best discount list because first, it’s doubtful they’ll sell out and second, they will be restocked for sure. Another example of items you may want to be cautious with are seasonal items like advent calendars, if you have your heart set on them. L’Occitane came out with an absolutely gorgeous 24-day advent calendar and at first I was going to wait for the holiday sale. But then my gut told me that people were probably going to snap them up in an early round of Christmas excitement. So, I bought two as gifts. I didn’t like paying full price since they were not cheap, but now I’m glad I did — they sold out and were removed from the site completely last week. So, consider what you want, try to figure out how much hype there is around the items and whether they are likely to be restocked if they sell out before you can get them in the sale, decide which items you would be REALLY disappointed to miss out on and which ones you would be okay with passing on, and then build your lists and stick to them 😊

Thank you! I really appreciate it :)
