@CookieGirl1& @SportyGirly125

I definitely smirked and 🤣 at that.  Here here 🙌🏽!

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@CookieGirl1 haha. I am the person who keeps track of when it goes on sale and then returns it to pay the cheaper price.

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@SportyGirly125 girl, I'm right there with you 😄.

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

Hahaha I love your answer on #3 @SportyGirly125 . So many times I was excited about getting new releases for 15% off or full price only to find out it’s on deep discount a month later 😂🤣 I feel cheated 😂🤣

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@blackkitty2014 Exactly. The Asian in me loves a discount.

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@SportyGirly125 oh the Westman Atelier super loaded sounds beautiful! I have the Yucca as a recent purchase but haven't played with it much. Glad to know you've liked it! Are you becoming a Pilates instructor?

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@makeitup305 Yes I am. I will be concentrating on more therapy based Pilates. I will be done in January but still have to finish my hours and test out. I have to finish it before mid September.

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@SportyGirly125 that sounds really interesting! I've never tried pilates. Best of luck!

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@makeitup305 Thank you. I have been taking private Pilates classes for over 2 years. When work let me go I told my instructor I would be her first student to sign up for her teacher training and she started the training again because of me.

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@SportyGirly125 that's awesome. I'm sorry you got let go, that must have been stressful. Hopefully this new career path is full of wonderful opportunities.

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@makeitup305 It was definitely bittersweet. The company I worked for and my coworkers sucked.  This opportunity came at the right time.

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@SportyGirly125 silver lining! I hope your new year is better than the last 😘

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@makeitup305 @Thank you. It’s a complete different feeling. I love going into the studio.

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

Aww, I'm glad you have that feeling @SportyGirly125

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

Thanks for the tag @makeitup305! Tagging @Westcoasty and @jaaayp to join in the fun too!

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

Thanks, @JoSometimes ! I'll give it a try tomorrow when my brain may be a bit less gooey. 🤣

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

thanks @JoSometimes !

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

Here are mine!

1) Your favorite purchase of the year- why?
Probably the NATASHA DENONA I Need a Nude Eyeshadow Palette . It's what her collection was missing and I love it so much. Second place goes to all my Terra Moons shadows.

2) A purchase you regret- why?

I picked up the Adept Cosmetics Mystery Box at the beginning of the year and it was such a waste of money I was actually angry about it. It was a palette and a bunch of liquid liners that have since dried out. While I still like the brand, I'm forever soured towards mystery boxes now.

I also picked up the #PHLUR Missing Person Perfume Oil 0.32 oz / 9.5 mL perfume oil and it's honestly the worst. I made few returns this year but this one went right back. Horrible scent compared to the perfume, which is a favorite.

3) Most expensive purchase- was it worth the money?

Single product- the Isamaya Beauty Industrial 2.0. Idk if it's worth its full full price (but what really is these days) but if you miss how special old PMG Motherships were in terms of finishes and artistry, this is your new best friend.

Overall- the multiple indie singles I purchased at a time from Clionadh and Terra Moons. Those add up quickly! They are amazing and totally worth it, though.

4) Most hyped product you bought- was it worth it?

The most viral product I bought is probably the Summer Fridays The Lip Butter Balm Set and the mini version, which went crazy viral and sold out fast. I really like them and the sets made them totally worth it.

5) Did you spend less, the same, or more than other years?

I think I spent about the same but I haven't really checked (I'm a little scared to do so tbh lol). I spent less at Sephora and Ulta and more than previous years on indie brands and K-beauty sites.

6) Rediscovered loves or underrated/underhyped makeup discoveries

Besides Clionadh, I feel like most indie brands do not get enough hype. Multichromes are not everyone's cup of tea but they are so fun to use. I also discovered Addiction Tokyo this year and I'm hooked.

7) A product you missed out on, or haven't bought yet, but really want

I want the Dyson Airwrap Diffuser attachment but it's been OOS since it came out. It's definitely mine as soon as it's available. I'm also a little sad I missed out on the Dior Sequin liquid lipsticks, if only for the nostalgia.

8 ) Did your makeup routine change in any way?
Not really. I do a full face most days and rarely do a minimalist look. Not because I don't like it, but because once I start, I can't hold back lol

9) What makeup trend do you think will be big next year?

I think matte lips and blingy highlighters are making a comeback. Early 2000/2010s vibes coming up.

10) What was your favorite body product or fragrance?

I picked it up toward the end of the year but BURBERRY Burberry Goddess Eau de Parfum with Vanilla & Lavender 1.6 oz / 50 ml eau de parfum spray is a favorite. I also really enjoyed DedCool 01 "Taunt" Eau de Parfum 1.7 oz / 50 ml eau de parfum spray and PHLUR Missing Person Perfume Set .

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@makeitup305  Aw man, sorry Adept ruined the mystery box/bag/bundle concept for you. You’re not the only person I’ve heard complain about their mystery box, and I wish everyone would’ve had a better experience. (I didn’t buy one, but a couple of friends did and they were not at all amused.)

On a more positive note: 100% agree about the Isamaya 2.0 palette. Heck, even though mine came with a broken shadow, I enjoy it enough to maybe buy 1.0 (which I’d planned to buy but wound up buying other green-themed palettes instead). That palette, Danessa Myricks, small indies, and even Natasha Denona are helping to fill the artistic/“special” Mothership gap for me.

Thanks again for bring this thread back!

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

@WinglessOne I was quite salty for a while on the Adept but ended up still picking up their Samarian Sunset palette regardless (I'm weak). I bought Terra Moons and other indie shades to dupe out their Seahorse palette and ended up spending way more lol I like them better, though. I'm glad you liked the Isamaya! She improved the formula on the second one vs the first so idk if I would rush out to buy it, even if it's grungy and gorgeous. My other indie excursions this year (right at the end with all the sales) were Ensley Reign, Unearthly, and What's Up Beauty, and ShinebySD, besides all my TM and Clionadh purchases. They've definitely filled that PMG void. I still can't believe I didn't buy anything from them this year. What's your favorite indie brand?

Re: Best, Most, and Worst [2023 Edition]

Natasha Denona makes beautiful palettes, I may have to get this one @makeitup305
