My lips are dealing with some serious wintertime blues, and they could use some help! Can you recommend any products that could help restore my lips and combat dryness/flaking? You can definitely tell they need help whenever I use a matte lipstick. Thanks!
I love the TM balms but the last two I ordered had the cap issue so I hope they fix it soon.
I love these! The scent is too strong for me but the formula is amazing! I hope I can try more and find one that's not too strong for me.
My favorite high end is Fresh Sugar, my favorite budget is Yes To Coconuts lip balm. I used to love the Bite Agave Mask, but I started reacting to it after about 6 months so I haven't used it for quite a while. Before the reaction, it was my absolute favorite, so if it doens't bother you, that's the real winner.
My lips get super dry and most things seem to wear off in no time. The ones that really work for me:
Kari Gran Lip Whip and Bite Agave Lip Mask (I use it like a regular balm)
@sister13 I recently tried a sample of the BITE Lip Mask and it's so nice. The champagne color is just so pretty too.
I like the Milk Makeup Hero Salve. It has healed my chronically dry lips. It is also a multi-task balm that can be used anywhere on the body. I pick up mine in the cash wrap section of Sephora for $12. It is the travel size version.
@Anonymous I have been on a quest for the last few months to find the perfect lip treatment since a new medication seriously cracked my lips - not only did they look awful, but they hurt so bad!
My doctor recommended Aquaphor Lip Repair, which is o.k., but not quite as intense as I'd like.
Dr. Lipp's Miracle Balm and Original Nipple Balm for Lips is awesome, but messy on the go and if you are sensitive to lanolin, it is not recommended. I use this right before bed and as soon as I get up in the morning.
On the go, I love Burt's Bees or Jack Black because I don't have to use a brush or my finger to apply them. I also just bought Intelligent Nutrients Lip Delivery Nutrition upon the advice of a lovely lady here on BT and it seems really soothing.
Finally, I love Lush Lip Balms (key lime pie is my favorite!), By Terry Baum de Rose and Tokyomilk lip balms.
I mix it up quite a bit - I think it will take some experimenting to find what works best for you. Good luck!
Good ol' Rosebud Salve..or Vaseline! 😃
I really love the Sol de Janeiro Lip Butter. It's so moisturizing and it smells amazing.
My biggest problem with it is that it's 18USD for about 6 grams of product. The package is pretty large, but the actual product only goes down to the top line, so most of the packaging is empty.
However, it's really a wonderful lip balm. I would be buying this all the time if there was at least 10 grams of product for the price.
Oh this sounds heavenly! Adding to my loves list right now! ❤️
@Tamara76 It really is. I highly recommend trying it.
I love the Bite Beauty Agave lip mask for nighttime! It's very rich, I just wish it wasn't always sold out online, lol! And I like the Jack Black lip balm for the daytime 🙂
The Maple Agave lip mask is sooooo good!
I second the Tatcha Camellia Gold Spun Lip Balm recommendation! I have such dry lips and recently fell in love with this one. Not only does it immediately hydrate, the hydration lasted all day for me. Usually I am applying balm every few hours.
Thanks for the recommendation @keelybt! I've been curious aboutbthis for a while. Adding to my loves list! ❤️
I second the Burt's Bees mango lip balm - they even have one that's dark chocolate and blueberries that I love yum! Also a fan of the Bite Agave lip mask as well. One that I'm not seeing here is the Fresh advanced lip balm - I really like it a lot.
I know it's on the pricey side, but when I'm feeling extra fancy I really like La Mer's the lip balm as well
Just a heads up about the nuxe reve de miel. It has an overpowering grapefruit scent (drive you crazy scent). I don't know if it's related to the scent but it makes my sensitive lips hurt and even dryer. It's expensive and they don't issue refunds only store credit on used items, if you happen to grab it during a sale then not even that.
Aquaphor saves my lips and it's cheap and Kiehls lip balm number 1
NUXE Rêve de Miel Lip Balm is definitely my #1! It forms almost a matte seal to moisturize and lock it in.
I have a very bad habit of peeling the skin off my lips (ya it's gross ._. ) so often I'm the cause of making them all dry and wrinkly. My staple lip product has been burts bees the original one. I've tried other popular/drug lip balms but don't feel like it "sinks" in.
I did get a sample in a birchbox of Dr Lipps nipple balm lol or something like that and I thought that worked really well too and it's really thick. But the burts bees is just more accessible to me. Sometimes I will use aquaphor on my lips as well. Make sure to drink enougb water too!
I also love Dr. Lipp's Original Nipple Balm for Lips!
MAC lip conditioner is fabulous! And the tube is huge! The Fresh sugar lip balms are also great but ridiculously expensive lol. As @unfungirl already mentioned, you can't go wrong with good old Aquaphor! Drinks lots of water, slather your lips and they should start to repair themselves.
