Rare Beauty Dewy Lip Balm vs Nars After Glow Lip Balm.

Hello!

Recenty, I made a trip to my local Sephora store to try a few of the Rare Beauty Dewy Lip Balms on display. I found them to be very messy and get all over my fingers when trying to roll down and roll up the tubes. Almost melty?  I also found the tubes a bit too thin for me. I am also wondering if the display products were like that because of how people swatch them and I have seen employees use cotton swabs etc to test products on clients.

Recently, I watched a YouTube video on lip balms and the Nars After Glow lip balms. How do they compare in consistency? Are the tubes the same size? I live in Florida so I need something that can stand up to the heat and humidity( I am careful but not perfect)

@AmyC I only tried the full size Nars Orgasm balm and Rare Beauty deluxe sample in Thankful. 

The consistency are a little different in my opinion. The Rare Beauty one is thinner.  It is really creamy and glides smoothly on the lips.  It moves around more than the Nars one. The Nars balm is a little thicker feeling, feels more like your typical lip balm.

Can lip balms underneath work as a lip primer to help glosses last longer? I am currently IN LOVE with Fenty Beauty lip glosses I would just like them to last a bit longer. I just searched lip primers on Sephora and quite a few came up, never ever heard of them before!

@AmyC I personally don’t think lip balms work as lip primers to help glosses stay on longer. 

have you tried a lip primer like the one from MAC?  It’s pretty popular. 

Glosses move around too much for it to have lasting power. I can see lipsticks staying put more than lipglosses with the right techniques. 

Also it helps to use the @ sign to tag members that way they can see your responses.

@SportyGirly125 @Thanks for all the info!! Makes sense about lipglosses, just a bit bummed as it is much harder to use lipsticks now and not mess them up( rolling the tube up and back down) lip glosses I do no problem.

I don’t like the look of most liquid lipsticks I have seen. They are just too bold for me. I like something sheer to buildable. I know Stila had some but they aren’t available anymore. 

Gotcha about the tagging, I just didn’t want to bug you too much as you have been extremely helpful to me!

@AmyC @Yes you can. I always mix and match my lip products but I always wear a regular lip balm under. If you have dry lips I don’t think it would be hydrating enough.
